Good afternoon everyone, Thanks for having me on the forum,
This weekend i am planning on getting my Nitrous kit installed but i am curious on the best mounting point for a single dry nitrous nozzle, I have heard conflicting information such as have it in the airbox or next to the throttle body and even to have it after the throttle body. My intake is a Lotus Elise s2 Sport 160 intake with 52mm throttle body and CDA filter.
Can anyone advise the best place to put the nozzle?
The reasons you'll have been getting conflicting advice are;
1) Most people who 'think' they are experts on nitrous oxide, have NO idea what they are talking about, so some say one thing and others will say something totally different
2) Some people may have some good info but they fail to realise that the location can be different on different manifolds and different again when using different nozzles.
For example, it's unwise to use ANY US brand kit with a single nozzle (because they all have a very narrow plume, which means even worse distribution, the closer the nozzle is located to the cylinder head.
In contrast, if you are wise enough to be using a WON Crossfire injector (nozzle), you can locate that relatively close to the cylinder head, without any distribution problems, so as long as you are using a WON system (with Crossfire), the location BagPuss has kindly advised you on, is perfectly correct. However, if you are using a US brand nozzle, I suggest that you position it further back from the TB, to have any hope of achieving adequate mixture with the air and therefore distribution to the cylinders.
