Those pistons look AWESOME and should handle the 1,000 extra HP you're intending to throw at them.

The rods also look the business, so that combination should hold together nicely.

Thats a good point, I'll remove mine when next at the strip

That thing I put on my car so no crud gets in while its on the trailer. Then it gets used as a tea tray while I'm on track

I do like the idea of changing to that setup I must admit. Can you buy them as glass fibre mouldings to bolt on. Or do you get your own folded up out of ally ??

I made the bonnet out of steel including the scoop then took a mould then laid up the bonnet

I could ask my mate if he would do tou a scoop from my mould but not sure when that would be or if you know someone you can borrow mould and make your own

Good and bad news on the test fire up over the weekend. I managed to get the engine turning ove and oil pressure along with holding water.

The bad bit is we couldn't get it to fire. The problem is due to a combination of 12.75/1 comp ratio and not having a torque converter bolted to the flex plate, as the engine was turning the starter was pushing the flex plate back. When we the put fuel and spark to the mix it was enough to push the ring gear off the gear on the starter. We suffer a few slightly damage teeth so the best course of action was to wait until Friday.

So sorry no footage or it running. but I did get 80psi oil pressure on the starter.

We think we've sorted out the issue with the flexplate/starter issue.

Because the Block Bell housing and Starter are "RACE" spec so slightly thicker than standard we only had 3mm engagement in the teeth on the flexplate. As we can't machine the block now and the bell housing is SFI so can't do that either our only option is make a new bearing suppoert for the starter.

I love it when everything is 3 times the cost of standard parts it means that you know they wont fit.

OK here's a little fact that I thought I'd share with you all.
I'm getting everything ready to load up tomorrow night. I spoke to Pete Dyno guy. he said we will need to bring around 50-60 litres of fuel, if were playing with adatives 75 litres, if were playing with nitrous settings 80-100 litres. Not bad figures for a "STREET" engine.
