Now I have run there and I warn you, its an old WW2 airfield with CONCRETE sections and no proper launch area, they also only run 1/8 ths...NO 1/4s !

Its a relaxing day out and good fun but don't think of it as a proper track...

To give an example of how bad the concrete track is (with pebbles in the concrete)..

Last year when I was only running 150 hp of WON , I tried a few 1/8 ths there....expecting to run around mid 8s....the best I could run was a 9.5 after LOTS of tries....but no traction at all....

At the end of the day, I left and just outside the airfield, the council has just retarmaced the road.....so I stopped...set up my G-Tech for a timing run...and instantly ran a 8.1 lolllllllll

Its still a good day though with concours for custom cars and a small handling track, but don't expect too much

I'm gona plan to just check out Long Maston this Sunday see if anythings on and quality of surface.

My car don't even do M42 at 2cm max suspension travel, that's a serious bone shaker, so if it's any worse that that let me know!!!!! I've set it up for drag strip now, not street/rough track.

Gotta make most of summer weather so cummon

Your low suspension wont be a problem in Devon, getting in and out the surface is excellent.

The track itself is an old WW11 runway, with the Xmas tree set up half way along it...

The problem is that the runway is made of around 15ft sections of concrete containing pebbles (maybe some thing to do with WW11 shortages)

The runway is smooth enough, so no big holes etc, but traction is a problem, on the smooth pebbles and concrete lol...

For a car as powerful as yours, testing will be fine there, but good times on the 1/8th will be difficult....

I loose weekend i don't plan to go-lives and work shvt so need to plan ahead a tad and would prefare to run with like minded Nitrous heads who have invested time to build there own track machines!

13th July, RWYB at York
now ive towed the car there i know its only 2 1/2hrs drive
one more RWYB testing session to make fully sure all the bugs are gone and common sense is back and ill get the forge engine built
i get the feeling its going to be an expensive summer

Go for it M8 keep us updated , did you get a chance to check plugs ? and if was me i would remount the pusiods , so the base was just level with top of pancake filter out let at bottom will give a really nice delivery line to injectors 4 75mm m8 blots and spacers should be all ya need

after chatting tezz i reckon i might even move the pulsoids so the outlets point direct to the jets ie no pipe bends

LOL sorry moo i was just reminding you ya scatty feker , got impresion you was having so much fun ya may have forgot PS fix ya feking rad hose as well or it may be a wasted 2 1/2 hour tow to next RWYB , think with the remount of pulsiods thats a pretty good flow

cant make next york way to far for me , but if ya ever run closer and want to do some plug test and a bit of messing give me a shout

lost track of what ya planing read about coil if ya getting leads pay the bit extra get trev to fit ends , Oh and if ya do remount pulsiods take a few mins to redo the static on new set up

good thinking about that water pipe lol, though to be honest its been like that since i bought the car 18months ago
its only for the heater so i might even removed it and bung up the pipe with another spark plug

ive gotta tidy the garage cuz its a tip, once the cars back in im gonna mod the pulsoids so the outlets are direct at the carb

if i hadnt f**ked up with the empty bottle id have a 14.5sec 1/4 now i know for deffo
the best time of 15.5 was with 13gallons of fuel in the tank, wheel spin in 2nd which i had to counter steer and lift for, and in the excitement of getting my won smile i lifted off before the chequered flag

im lookin into events at the POD (yuk) and Stratford if any of those are close enough to you ill give you good notice

trev (and dave) told me he used to run a ballasted coil and when the nos is activated a relay bypasses the ballast resistor and doubles the coil voltage
the same thing it does when you crank the car on old points dizzi motors

The Devon dates dont tie up with my commitments at the mo which is a bit of a bummer.
I'm at the Pod on 5th July with a shed load of Capri's for the Retro show.
If its in one piece after that I'll see what I can do to get there.
The 13th July might be a possible at York though.

is there space for a shed of a capri

after much thought ive decided to crack on with the modifications and repairs and get the car mot`ed if possible before 15th at york

I've just been looking at timing slips from York again to workout why my 60 foot times are sometimes so so poor and yet i was still finishing 1/4 in 12.69sec...

4.81... 4.42... 4.36...

Then read small print at top of slip and it says:

'Left Lane 0-60 feet' ---- 'Right Lane 0-60mph' LoL i was in the right lane

So from worrying take off was so so poor now realise i'm getting 0-60mph of 4.36 seconds with excesive wheel spin through all gears so definatly room for improvement

Event on at Stratford race track this weekend, gona see what weathers like and possibly run later in afternoon track is quiet and they will let me...

Thankyou Janet & Steve for rubber seals and stuff, replaced N20 filter too (Had black bits in old filter) and it's running far sweeter than ever the 75bhp jets feel the part now rather than 50's

York sounds great mid July...

have fun Scot no bike for me for a bit a have a few changes to sort that and kids have ordered me out of bike mode and into daddy mode LOL , so any usage or work on bike is strictly hush hush LOL, FFS my 8 year old said Daddy im watching you that big silver bottles empty now , so if weather nice im off to alton towers not that i mind has same big feel good factor as racing bike , but having an empty 11lb bottle in house feels like they cut me electricty off

think i always run left one LOL i cant rember and the rain on way home made a mess of a lot of the slips but 0-60 so quick on a bike any way it dont matter

I ran twice in the right lane at York. Was I the only one to see the bollard at the exit road who kept to the right of it and ended up spinning in the big gravel patch??
That was scary I can tell you.
I'm staying in the left lane from now on when I go back there. And I still think the concrete burnout / launch pads are ACE!!!! Much better than the Pod any day. Nice and smooth. The burnout puddles at the pod are just water over a really rough and loose concrete pad which rips your tyres to shreds.

plus i was travelling at a much lower speed
york raceways big let down is the entry, but it does keep the chavs out
