I was reading my Cycle World magazine where they tested another one of those air velocity mechanisms. Out of 3 bikes the highest gain was .4 hp and one bike lost 4 hp even after a revised unit was sent. My question is where does the capital even come from to make such garbage and pay for expensive advertising? Who would invest in such things?

"When the throttle is closed, their is no more air drawn inside the engine. Since there is a higher air pressure outside of the airbox, the air pressure in the airbox drops and a minimal amount of air is available. This lack of pressure is what causes the lag in acceleration when the rider pulls on the throttle again."

...this with the throttle at the very end of the intake arrangement, bike moving, RamAir duct(s) pointing forward.
Obviously the engineers of their research department are not overpaid - money that can be spend for advertising.

But... Denny, look at point 1 - it´s made to improve stop-and-go or low-speed-traffic performance!

I guess they dropped out of aerodynamic school a term too early.
The moment the throttle shuts a static head of pressure builds in the airbox when the bikes moving.
As for the "perpetual" fan helping to create pressure
Anyone whos tinkered with Japanese airboxes knows you don't mess without paying a price !

There are far too many investment bankers with zero technical advice to keep them away from enterprises like this.

The best of it is, even though they've been exposed as junk, people will still buy them, proving there is no such thing as "bad" publicity!!! :(

are we discussing those delightful ram air filters made by kuryakin? as beloved by jap cruiser and harley pilots? i got warned off them by a mate who builds drag spec motors as he said exta air goes in but no extra fuel......at best yer motors not going to run right at some point through the revs,at worst wallet shrinking consequences
