You are absolutely correct Sergey but the reference posted here was LIGHT HEARTED so NOT intended as an insult.

That said, there is still a GENERAL negative opinion about the Russian nation (held by most of those on our side of the Iron curtain), that stems from the worst of the propaganda we've been subjected to about Russia here, in addition to the effect of the long standing 'CONFLICT' (Cold war), between the 2 sides, that's going to take a lot of changing in most cases.

Luckily I'm not the kind of person to group all one nation as being the same and I would NOT allow anyone on my forum to be offensive to ANY one or any nation.

The problem with translation is that it is usually VERY CRUDE and fails to do even an adequate job of getting across the SMALL DETAILS, that make the difference between an INSULT and a FRIENDLY JOKE.

I can ASSURE YOU that the guy who made the post is a NICE & DECENT guy and he meant NO OFFENSE by his post.

Please keep in mind that the guy who made the post is NOT English and therefore his own original thoughts have had to be translated and then you have had to translate it yet again.

Even when I talk to people I work and live with everyday, there are MISUNDERSTANDINGS between us, so the chances of 2 people with different languages manage to avoid misunderstandings is IMPOSSIBLE.

I've often stated that it's AMAZING that the world is not constantly at war, when even BROTHERS have misunderstanding and disputes.

Think back to one of our previous conversations where you said something like you would always think good of my comments, because that's how you were (as I am until proven wrong), so you need to think good of this, as there was NOT the sightest offense meant by the post.

One other thing to keep in mind, is it's NOT good to choose to be offended by peoples comments, as it causes 'you' upset when none was likely to be intended.

No problem I'd considered doing so before you mentioned it, especially as the video has been removed, so we've no idea what it was all about anyway.

One final point on the matter, I'm 100% CERTAIN that there will be SOME Russian people, who would have made similar posts about another nation, so even if this had been intended as an insult, it is not JUST an anti Russian scenario.

BTW I'll delete the whole thread once you've read my last post, because if I delete it now you won't see it.
