Anyone on here want to meet up at the retro show?

I'll be hosting my usual event with the MG for the weekend.

You dont have to race. But there will be a class for non classic cars so anyone can sign on if its not too busy. General rule is that the vehicle (car or bike) has to be 1980 or older.

Any WON users who want to have a go on the 1/4 mile can rock up in the pits with me and my mob. But I will need confirmation on here as I will need to arrange pit passes for your vehicle before hand !!

See the website for full details. Check out the Badass MGB in the 3rd picture

UPDATE!!!

The MG Drag Racing Club stand in the pits at Santapod has now gone national :)

I have amalgamated my club with two others so we will have one large area to race from !

The MGDRC folks have all sorts of cars, not only MG's. So we will have MG's, Jags, Bimmers, Skodas + a methanol slingshot attending.

We will also be hosting our guests from the V8 Owners Forum headed up by Tony Cooper (The Red Capri in the WoN book)

AND GET THIS!!!!!!!

Our others guests will be lead in by the one, the only, Phil Herrick with Muscle Sprout and a bunch of the original Rover Racers from back in the day :)

The Rover Racers Reunion 2012 will be held in the MGDRC club area in the pits at Santapod.

I'm sure Trev remembers a few of these guys and their cars ??

Heres the 8 second Escort !!

I'm so looking forward to meeting some of these guys in July :)

I think this is going to be the best Retro gig so far mate.

I got your mails but they have dropped about 300 down the list due to work emails. I'll try to find them.

I took my new truck out 2 weeks ago at the Pod for 16 passes :)

It was 2 weeks old so I figured it was run in ok.

I actually managed to get a scalp on the day!!!

My brand new 3 litre turbo diesel auto Isuzu Rodeo vs a Golf 1.8 TDI.

I had 5 runs with this car and beat him by 0.2 of a second every time.

Then the owner of the Golf (a mate of mine) put one of his mates in the truck with me for ballast and we ran head to head with him beating me by 0.1

I often see folk saying that they dont want to run thier cars on the strip as they dont want to thrash them. I always ask them where their fave bit of road is for the odd Sunday flat out blast... After a short discussion they come to realise that they thrash their pride and joys on the open road for much longer than they would do on the drag strip

Thats why I have so many old MG's (1960's to 1980's) having a go at the Retro Show 8)
