Only aobut 10 days to go before my rebuilt block will be ready for collection.
The downside is that I've got so much work booked in that I'll not be able to collect it until the end of the month ?? :(

I now have my rebuilt block :)

Spanking new top hat liners fitted along with cam bearings.
Decks nice and flat. Heads all refurbed and skimmed nice and flat.
Got me a nice set of cometic steel gaskets :)

And a large table full of all new rings, bearings, shells gaskets etc etc !!!

I'm quite frustrated at the mo because I now have all I need for a total rebuild of engine, gearbox, rear axle and rear suspension + twin wideband kits sitting in the garage. But I'm stuck working 7 days a week at the mo :(

I was hoping to be on the dyno at the end of Feb and at the Fast show for shakedowns. But at this rate I wont be on the dyno for another 4-5 weeks :(

Still!! No point in rushing eh? The longer it takes to get done the warmer and dryer it will be

My Son has worked every single evening and weekend through the last 5 weeks to get his V8 project underway. I used to be that keen. But I dont feel any great urge to be working outside in the snow and freezing cold at this stage in my life...

Up at 5am and not in until 6-8pm every day for the last 4 weeks is enough for me :?

Hopefully there will be some slack days coming up in 2 weeks. Then I'm gonna blitz the build :beatstick:

Take your time Pel.
Sounds like its going to be spot on for some serious abuse at the strip.
Hopefully you will be fully operational soon and we can have a race at teh pod come the retro show.
Dont worry, i am used to getting beat easily

I'm not gonna rush it mate. As long as it all tested and set up for Retro weekend I'll be happy. Slight lack of get up and go at the mo!!

I'll be full of enthusiasm again when I hear it running :)

I am struggling to find the time for mine too.
Looks like I might have to fit a proper seat and a 5 point harnes to compliment my roll bar and to comply with racing regulations in the NSCC and at York.
Buying the harness isnt so bad, but then i have to find or weld in sufficient location points :?
