I've finally got the new build underway..

Damaged heads have been welded and skimmed and look like new. The block is being stripped, the melted areas are being welded and cut back for new top hat liners in the old Rover V8. I have had cometic multi layer steel gaskets made which should put and end to my head gasket leaks. I've got all the other bits I ned to build the engine back up for Feb 2012.

Hopefully will be on the dyno by 3rd week of Feb for testing. When the engine is bedded in I'll be looking for similar low 10's on the strip on the old induction setup.

I'll be happy with this while I finish fitting the DP system for the Retro Show in July..

I've been sad not to have had the MGB to use since last July but the wait will be worth it for 2012 I hope :)

Watch this space in 4 months ??? 8) 8)

Sounds good to me Perry

After putting injection/throttle bodies on my kitten over the summer i didn't do much to it again until now, just fabricating a new stainless exhaust manifold (correct lengths/sizes), then a cam change and then i'll get the nitrous back on :) :D

See you at the pod next year sometime

Ian

Nice

I've just finished stripping down the spare block and it's off for cleaning tomorrow ready for me to start buying the new shiny bits :D Not going to be finished for a while though so also got to replace a set of piston rings that have gone in the current engine from a little too much nitrous :loser:

Will hopefully make it to the pod a bit more this year and see you there

Sounds like we are all getting our acts together for 2012 eh lads ??

I'm looking forward to seeing you guys again next year. As well as my new mates in esc like Glenn, Specky, Chris and Paul etc.. I'm getting more and more interested in ESC :)

I now have three spare TH350 trannies. Two in good working order and one that works but has a nasty metallic whizzing noise coming from it. I'm thinking sprag problems ??

I've ordered a rebuild manual and will be attemtpting my first auto box rebuild as a spare time thing next year :)
Sommat different to do eh ??

Perry
