Just shows you, that a 10sec car is rare indeed.
There's a few more I would like to have seen in that group.
Most of you should be able to guess the winner.

I bet Trev could do another "Top Gear" XJS version, but up the anti a bit

Hi Ted :)

No the GT3 is not that fast, I regularly used to beat one on the way home from my local Porsche club when I was only using 200 hp of WON Nitrous.... it annoyed him every time lol :)

The faster Porsche is actually the 911 Turbo S Cabriolet but they are rare, a friend of mine owns one and it has a really good launch control system and the book figure is 11.1 , and again on a rolling start (road) under full acceleration with me using quite a bit more than 200 hp, I beat it, only just but I did lol :)

All the best Brett :)

Funny enough brett when im dreaming on-line or poking my head in the showrooms ,without ever having sat in one, the turbo S has always been my gut choice... ;) oh and it was that very thing (launch control) that hooked me ..i watch this vid regular

Great find Rich!!
Very entertaining...

The mph figures of those fisrt few cars across the lne show that the end result would have been very different if they had been running on a good surface I think.. ;)

And I guess that the cars were driven by their owners who havent done much drag racing and dont know where their cars make peak torque??

Some of the gear shifts in the clip from different cars sounded like the drivers have been taught to shift at the redline and not at peak power...

Having said that. They were all running on a level playing field I guess. (apart from the row about folk using cheater tyres) :omgrofl:
Its a shame they didnt have full 1/4 mile data available. That way the numbers would tell the full story eh?? Reaction time being the key number to start with. The clock started on the word go, not when the wheels broke a beam for a true 1/4 mile time.

Having said that!! I've saved it to my faves to watch again and share with mates :)

I'll be looking out for more vids from this lot. Rich blokes having fun !! Love it :D :D
