So the list for this Sunday is looking like:

Me + the Bobbin Hood MGB
Rich and the Black Panther
Maybe Danny Boy and the MG
Austin and Greased Lightning... I like that if I do say so myself :D
Mick and the Nobbler. ( I'll have plenty of spoiler cable ties in the truck) :beatstick:
Big Dave and the Crap Mobile. (I'll bring my water proofs and jubilee clips this time)

Anyone else want to tag along??

I'm a definite along with the better half

Won't be there too early as it's a 2 hour drive so I doubt I'll be heading out on the strip at all.

The Capri is sat outside my house on the trailer ready to go!

Now do I put the bigger jets in the toolbox or not??

200bhp jets are in the car and I think I have some up to about 500bhp lol

As this:

Image

is all the remains of one of the bolts holding my rear subframe in (there's one of these in each mount) I will currently not be driving anywhere tomorrow. It would usually be a case of undo 2 x 10mm bolts and drop the corner of the subframe to replace that bolt but both 10mm bolts have decided to round off and one has decided to dislodge the captive nut that holds it in place. At this rate I shall be claiming on the 'fire' part of my insurance  Not been a fun day....

Thats a real pisser Dan!
But better you find it nowrather than when on the road. Especially with the other half in the car as well..

Never mind mate. You have a whole week to try and get it fixed. We will be back at the Pod Next Sunday as well :D :D

I've got my son next weekend so won't be able to make it :( Also, got to get it back on the road tomorrow as it's my only car

I just can't believe what a pain it's been. It doesn't bother me that the long bolt that hold the two mounts together has snapped as I was tightening it (it had somehow worked loose), it's the fact that both the 10mm bolts I need to remove have rounded and a captive nut that's sealed away in the bodywork has come away. I will get it done tomorrow as I'm a stubborn bastard but i'm gonna have to cut away at the bodywork to do it! Well done MGRover :tard:

Do you have any way or maybe a mate with a small oxy acetylene or oxy propane welding torch who can the the nut red hot quite quickly?

I've had this on many an exhaust nut / bolt. But I use my small oxy kit to get the bugger glowing red and then let it cool for a few mins. They normally spin off after that?

Dont know what to suggest about the captive nut area without actually seeing it.

There's a captive nut inside a sealed bit of bodywork which the arrowed bolt screws into

Image

I'm gonna have to dig the dremel out and cut that bit of bodywork away as I don't think the grinder will fit :tard:

Hopefully once I'm in I can get a spanner on the captive nut and a pair of mulgrips on the rounded bolt head and get it off :beatstick:

I can then just replace with a nut and bolt and put the bloody thing back together hopefully

The track was damp until 2pm, and it never really dried.

I went out and did a lovely burnout, but then the diff let go :(

I'll let the others explain their day!!!

I'm waiting to see your burnout Vid Dave!
I hope Rich got it on camera??

After waiting from 8am to 3.30pm for a run I reckon got a bit carried away..My tyres were really sticky. So much so that they stuck to the track when i stopped.
I pulled a really good reaction time. But my axle let go as soon as I hit the pedal and I had to brake. I still pulled a 2.3 60 foot with the brakes on :)

I have more shafts to fit for next Sunday. So I'll be more gentle off the line. I've only got 4 spare shafts left now so i think its time to start and look at getting my shafts copied by moser or strange..

Team WON video's will be loaded tomorrow (Flames too Pel) :D

Today was a joke, no rain but they still couldn't get the track race worthy.
I got my money back as I never had a run, hope Perry got his reimbursed too.

After today's farce at the track, I'll be testing on the "Hogs Back" (my local track) :omgrofl:

I'm NOT happy about the way Sunday was managed.
What I did not tell you, was when I went to the office, I was NOT the only one complaining.
They have lost my business until the track dries out from the warmth of the UK sun, which could be quite a few months :tard:
