My poor old MG is out on the trailer and still has 5" of snow all over it. The garage is so full of shit that and so cold that I cant be bothered to go and do anything. My Sons V8 Escort project is stranded on the drive in front of the garage door so I couldnt get my MG inside even if I wanted to. Which is why I cant be arsed to even clear the garage out...

I'll just leave the MG where it is with the battery conditioner plugged in to keep it topped up. I still have around 9" of snow on the driveway so I dont even want to walk on it...

To summarise:
1. Its too cold outside.
2. Theres too much snow outside.
3. Its Xmas and I want to have a holiday.
4. See 1-3 above

I'm in day 6 of the Xmas flu so have barely moved let alone thought about doing any work on the car

At some point I've got to get out there and swap the subframe mounts over and 101 other things I've got to do to mine as well as finished getting my dad's back together :? At least now I have my interior complete again though

At the moment my most pressing job is to fit the 100/40 jets ready for next month at the Pod, but the cold and snow has put me right off. At least I now have 2 full 11lbs bottles, which were being filled while I sat in my warm car

My CTR hasn`t left the garage for 3 weeks now. Use my bicycle to go to work but it`s not easy with all the snow and ice at the moment.

The car needs a service:
-new plugs
-oilchange
-new engine coolant
-new clutch hydraulic fluid
-new brake fluid
-new gearoil
-new accessory belt

Have bought most of the items needed to get started.
I promised myself to get all this done before the end of the year. hmm.

Nope - I'm putting on the thermals, infrared heater and getting on with it.

Its warmer working outside than where I am contracting at the moment - so much for H&S!

I guess you have been working like me Bill??

Lots of weekend stuff and overtime !!

I finished my last 2010 job at 10 am and went back to the office for 11am. The boss asked me to call in before I went home for xmas as he and his wife (the finance director) wanted to see me ??

Sod that I thought. I need to get to the shops to buy Gills xmas pressies.??

I shot into the office for a cuppa and to drop off a load of tools I didnt need to have on board over Xmas. And I got collared by the bosses wife.

Its a tale of bitter sweet stuff really??

The bosses wife dropped me a £600 thankyou with a kiss and a hug. And the Boss asked me to call into a site in London tomorrow to sort out a small problem at HM Treasury in whitehall !!

I'm happy with that to be honest :)

I'll be on site for about 1 hour to spec up a hot water repair. And then I can pick up the mother in law on the way home. I was going to pick up MIL anyway so all is good :)

And I can also afford to go to Maplins and buy another toy helicopter for Xmas :omgrofl:

Yup working OT as my work has been taking longer than it normally does as we cant find the chambers as they are under the snow, that & we've had to chisel through 2/3" of ice/compacted snow to get the lids off :beatstick:

Image

Then I've been building main satellite dish utility panels (they keep the rain/ice/snow off the dish & inform the base control station if there's any issues with the dish) in our nice warm unit :)

It has given me enough cash to buy some Pauter rods for my big power engine build & a roll cage for my current CRX I'm waiting on the weather to get on the road

Can't be arsed is one way of putting it.

I was hoping to fit my kit before I went to Wales, that was the beginning of November. Been back a few weeks now and haven't even thought of fitting it. One, being due to this $hitty weather but mostly, two, the bloody car developed a vibration just before I went and now I'm too chicken to fit the kit as I can't pinpoint where the vibration is coming from so don't want to be adding more power to it incase there is something going on with the internals.

So had a kit for months and still haven't been able to play with it

Well....i've been busy  8)

Luckily my kitten lives in a garage, but doesn't go out in this weather. Next year i can do loads of rwyb meetings so i've been doing jobs on the car that have been put off for while (years :beatstick:  ).

Head skimmed, only slightly as it was just a little corroded (first one in 12 years so i can't complain).
Bigger chokes in the carbs.
Carbs rejetted to suit.
A couple of years ago i searched around for info/software for the mbe 912 ignition ecu without much success, since then i've been hacking/disecting the software and now have access to everything. Ignition map changed, cold start ignition at idle changed, dwell time changed, throttle pot calibrated, plus the 2 important ones i originaly wanted to do. The rev limits been lifted to 8000rpm so i won't be on the limiter in 4th over the line/needing 5th and i've also got the air input temperature ignition compensation (previously not used) connected to the max so i have variable programable retard proportional to nitrous power delivered

Priced up new drag tyres £375 delivered is the best i can find, I'll get them in January. My current ones are over 5 years old now and were 2nd hand when i got them!

Need to buy/fit a better clutch, which will be 6 paddle ceramatilic, Alcon or Ap.

Then i'm all set for new pb's in 2011  8) :D :bounce:

Ian

Sounds great Ian.
Perry and I are already planning to be at the pod on 16th Jan (weather permitting)

Been out in the garage today :) Made a couple of brackets to hold the radiator in, then secured them (and it) in the car. Then I remounted the cooling fans........it was quite amazing hoe they just seemed to fit!! Cant think of a better way to spend Christmas day!

They're MT's, 22x8x15 and the part number is 3019. If you can find them cheaper, that would be great! ;) 8)

I've been hearing good things about the new Toyo DRR1 Drag tyres. Not sure of the size range though.

Have you tried calling Geof or Ray at Hausers??

Not yet, but i did take a look around their web site (which doesn't really give any info on tyres) and i'm pretty sure that they're closed until tomorrow. I'll give them a call in the morning ;) 8)

I'll do a search on the toyo's tonight :D

Looked up the toyo tyres, even the smallest ( 25.0x9.0 - 15) is just a bit to big to fit on my kitten without chopping the body work/arches :beatstick:

But i have just sent off an enquiry for a price on some MH drag tyres (they also seem to be highly rated).

Hooray!!

I got the cover off the MG today. And it looks so sad :(
All damp and soggy looking.. On sunday I'll be towing it to the trading estate to see if it will start after the long lay up ??

My Son is in the garage right now making up new plug leads for it.
