This little thing has bothered me for some time now when watching Top Gear. When talking about the power of a car that they are testing, Jeremy uses the word "Torques" as if it were a measurement! For example he would say, "The Bugatti Veyron has 1001 horsepower and 1250 Torques". Torques is NOT a unit of measurement!! Newton metres and foot pounds are units of torque. Please someone ring the BBC
Also the episode I just watched, was the one were they had to plow a field with 3 big tractors (and had a guy from Doncaster judging their plowing), they had to clear the field of the sheep that were there, but Jeremy called them "sheeps". Sheep is both a singular and plural noun.

BUT.... It's still my favourite program. It was the best thing to have come from of England until I got my WON products. :P

Paul

I shouldn't worry, Clarkson is beyond help, he's a lost cause. Trev's been on "Top Gear" and I've been in the audience.
The ONLY genuine guy on that programme is James May, he even made me a cup of tea and took time out to chat (and take photo's) with Vivienne (when I needed to rest my back before the break)

I can definitely relate to James, he's particular to detail. I also like his intelligent insults towards Jeremy.
I'm glad he's a genuine person unlike most celebrities.

Unless JC has improved a great deal over the past 20 years or so, he hasn't the first idea about REAL PERFORMANCE.

However, in his defence, it is common in the UK to 'play' with words and intentionally twist them and use them incorrectly, so I'm quite sure he'll know the correct terms to use but is 'choosing' not to do so. ;)

I have only ever watched 2 episodes of Fifth Gear so I can't judge on that one.

Nice. :omgrofl:

Another program of yours I like is "QI", with Stephen Fry, that Alan Davies hair reminds me of James May.

The problem with that is they'd have to abandon the race event because it would take so long to clean up not only the wreckage of the bike but also the tons of shite he'd have left behind - not a pretty sight. :tard:

There should be more programs like QI but I just wish I was younger so I could remember and use all that knowledge. :?

I'm sure we'll get that on our TV screens soon. As long as they don't hitchhike they may return home.

I use the knowledge a lot, as not many people watch it here. 8)
