Hi Brett!!

I'm pee'd off to say the very least???

I was quite prepared to go down on the off chance of it being wet. But its a drag strip FFS??

No way am I going down only to be told again that I cant test my car. I was not looking for a record run. I just wanted to run to the 1/8th and stick another 150hp of gas on to see if my home made setup would work or blow my engine up??

Never mind. I'll be back out in early January 2011 to try again :)

Hi Pel :)

You could always do a run on the nice tarmac road outside the track lol....

Once when testing there, I ran a faster 1/4 on the road outside than I could on the concrete track (G-Tech) lollll....

The Pod has much nearer neighbours than Smeatharpe :)

All the best Brett :)

You should come over to the sunshine in Sydney, the track holds off street meetings every Wednesday evening for 4 hours (weather pending), and now they are having Friday evenings (fortnightly I think) for a couple of months for us license holders to do test & tune. They have a 180 car cut-off, so some nights you'll get 6 passes, or only get 3-4 passes if some douchebag drops oil on the track.
I feel for you Perry.

I just checked your Santa Pod website and it seems you do have frequent events, but not till mid Jan by the looks of it, bugger!

The heath and safety Nazis are at it AGAIN! :tard:

If it wasnt for the 3 week+ sea trip both ways Sydney would be a fantastic trip - and I'd get to see some of the family! :omgrofl:

Need a lottery win first to do that trip

I hope so Rich!!
I see there are 3 RWYB meets in Jan alone :)

I'm hoping my mate Tony Cooper will be there in his Capri with the new rear axle ready to rock for some shakedowns.

Here is the latest email from Rob!!

the airfield at smeatharpe is heavily flooded and due to the amount of rain that has fallen in the past few days the area surrounding the airfield is waterlogged and water is therefore being held on the runway so we cannot safely run the drag racing. we apologise for any inconvenience caused. The drifting is not affected and indeed we have now doubled the size of the drift area

So frustrating isnt it Sam??

But as you get deeper and deeper into the nitrous scene you will often find that you end each season missing out on the "i just need one more test run for this year" event !

You get to a certain point in the season and then get stopped. I've got a shed load of mods I want to do on my car. But I'm holding firm and just leaving her as she was from the last PB run at the Pod. She only PB'd on MPH though. My time was 0.3 down on the normal ET's.

I just hope that Jan , Feb and March are dry enough to get my final testing done as this will show me which way to go next ;)
