Thats annoying, I would have pulled my finger out if I had known it was on and more importantly was actually a quarter, dont think Ive physically got enough time left to manage now though with only a couple of weekends to go (I work away from home in london during the week)

Damn, this place is only about 20 miles from me, but I'm going to be 200 miles further north that weekend. Oh well, I can be consoled by the fact I will be blasting around Mallory Park on the 19th. :)

I've looked at the link and it seems it road legal cars only... Do they not allow non road legal cars??? I see the info talks about proper exahusts???

I dont have any. I run open sidepipes and my car is not road legal. Can I attend??

Hi :)

The postcode is for the actual nearby village...but once near you can follow the signs and traffic lol :)

Oh and be careful driving near there...those are VERY VERY narrow country roads...if you are taking the trailer...go slow lol..

All the best Brett :)

Will do Brett!!
I drive nice and slow in country lanes with the trailer. And I dont reverse for anyone :D

I'm going to leave home at 4.30am to get there sharp. If its dry I'm gonna have a real good end of season bash to find out if my hybrid nitrous system will actually work 8)

If its wet and I cant run a full 1/4 I'll just chill and watch the other guys running. No point in wasting petrol and gas if I cant get power down eh?? This must be a problem you have at these events?? Too much power for the track surface :?

I cant activate the 2nd stage until I'm at the 1/8th marker with the 1st stage full on at 4300rpm. So a half track wont be any good to me whatsoever...

But if its dry I'll be trying out a full 450hp shot on the old MGB

I will be there regardless of weather Sam!!

If I can get 2 passes in to test my new system I will have the answers I need. This will allow me to move on to the new design for 2011 :D Or maybe not??? if it looks like the system works I may just keep it on the car until January for testing on a proper strip??

I am alreadt preparing myself for a 400 mile round trip with the trailer just to watch some drifting as I guess it will be wet when I need to test.

Even if its raining there will be action on site Rich. But not the MGB?? I'll be happy to watch some drifting and low power drag racing anyway??

You can tell I'm desparate to find out if my hybrid system works eh???

Yes I can see that
But how about this, I just asked Viv if she fancied a weekend in Devon and she went balistic :beatstick:
But not for a bad reason. She had some potential business down there, but could not justify the journey, until I mentioned this. I told her 1 day too late

I'M OUT!!!!

Just got a mail from the organisers to say the local police and local council are coming down hard on the event. So I cant run my MGB on Saturday. No point as I cant do my stuff until I hit the 1/8th mile marker??

Here is the note from Rob.
Just an update on the event planned at Smeaharpe on Saturday November 20h. We have today met with the local Safety Advisory Group and Police and they have told us we need to make some alterations to the event.
As a comittee we are not particuarly in agreement with the changes but the alternative was not to get a license from the local council and having to cancel the event.

The following changes will be put in place.

1. A strict enforcement by Safety Camera Partnership of speed into and out of the event SPEED CAMERAS
2. a STRICT ADHERENCE TO NOISE LEVELS 105DB.
3.Regarding the drag strip anything quicker than 11.00 must run over the 1/8 mile but slower can run 1/4 mile.
4. BikeS can only run over the 1/8 because of the surface.
5. DRIFT AREA CANNOT HAVE 3RD GEAR CORNER WITHOUT CONCRETE BARRIERS IN PLACE (tHE COST BEING £2000 + VAT which we cannot justify on a one day event) Drift area is 1400 feet x 130 feet
6. Last action is at 16.00 hrs

There are NO neighbours for MILES ..SO 105 DB is totally stupid.... only rabbits will hear :(

I sometimes wonder where this country is going :( :(

All the best Brett :)

Hi Brett!!

I'm pee'd off to say the very least???

I was quite prepared to go down on the off chance of it being wet. But its a drag strip FFS??

No way am I going down only to be told again that I cant test my car. I was not looking for a record run. I just wanted to run to the 1/8th and stick another 150hp of gas on to see if my home made setup would work or blow my engine up??

Never mind. I'll be back out in early January 2011 to try again :)
