Anyone from here going to the event??

This year I noticed that there is a note on the class tables to say :
No trophies will be awarded to any Non Retro Vehicles.

Which means they will let modern cars run as well :)

Do it then. But get in early mate. I'll need someone to wake me up in case the Skoda boys keep me up on the lash all night on Saturday :D

I must admit, having had some downtime on my car this year made it nice to go to a few events just to look and listen without having to worry about my own car for a change :)
We dont really get to see anything when we go racing do we ??

Envelope has just gone in the post box mate

No late night for me, I'll have done the night shift the night before, so I'll definitely need my beauty sleep :omgrofl:

I'm really looking forward tho this weekend now :)

Although everything seems to be going pear shaped. I took my truck in for a gearbox check as it was noisy. This was 10 days ago. The lease company agreed to a gearbox change. After 1 week I'm getting jittery. But they said not to worry as it would be delivered back last Tue. Still no truck. Apparently the courier got lost or sommat? Then they cant start the work until Wed am. So new clutch goes in on Tue and gearbox Wed. So delivery will be Thrusday, today. Still no truck. I call again and get told the courier must have dropped it cos the casing is cracked AARRGGHH!!!
Now I'm told the casing is being welded tonight and the box will be fitted and delivery SHOULD be Friday, they HOPE ???

I can borrow a truck, but whats pissing me off is the fact that I'm going to have to do al the loading on Friday evening instead of putting a few bits on the truck each night during the week so I just have to fling the gas bottles in on Fri and pull the trailer out on the road....

I'll be there though, even if I have to tow it with the pit scooter

Just to confirm Pel, I will be bringing Viv's L200 complete with tow bar and 2 full 11lbs bottles should you need them.
I will NOT be running Viv's baby up the strip :D

do you need the reg for the pit pass?

No mate!
Just let me know when you arrive and someone will drive a pass out to you on the entrance road. I've just been and picked up my old truck that I sold to a mate. Its now loaded and ready to roll. Ring me when you are a few mins from the Pod.
Spare gas might help if I get stuck dude.
Shopping is done, Shed loads of bacon, burgers and bangers + onions, rolls and tommy sauce. I even have brown sauce and sweet chile sauce for those who like tha bit of spice in their hot dog :)
Just need to grab beer and coffee tomorrow and we is all set :D
The downside is that I will not have my own truck. So only basic tools on board. As long as I dont pop a shaft or worse I'll be fine.

And I just got a call from Debs to say she will be over Sunday lunchtime :)

Ok will make sure Ive got my usual tools (other than the Fabia Driver) with me.

Should be able to cope with anything from a popped drive shaft to a HG change.

Do I need to bring my brake pipe thingy?

Cool Beans!!
Chris Todd (Torque of the Devil) managed to fill a spare bottle for me today. He will be on site on Sunday with the Scooby powered Fiesta and will be looking for a low 10 again :)
I got the spare truck loaded last night and came home to find my truck has been brought back from the garage. I'm not going to use it though. I stil need to get some bonnet pins fitted after last outings little incident at 100mph :) Luckily the safety catch held. But the firbreglass bonnet was twisting like a nutter at that speed. I need to do the last bits of shopping and then fit the bonnet pins, then I'm going to have a shower and a cold beer before bed :)

We got some pics on these sites.
Stevies Skoda got some good attention as well :) Scroll through the pics. There are some nice cars there.. I was a bit peed off to find my class was won by a motorbike?? Class X is shown as non road legal cars AND bikes. I now I only ran 11.2 but how are we gonna compete with 8 second bikes???

Was nice to say hello and have a quick chat, Richard. Glad your 840 is heading in the right direction now. Saw the Torque of the Devil guy too (they do my refills).
