Can anyone recommend a BMW (car) forum that's likely to help me diagnose a faulty fuel tank sender and/or gauge?

For the really tricky stuff, I paid for an online BMW Technician at Just Answer.
If you opt for this route, the best guy I found was called BMWmasterTech.
It was well worth the £14 to get the electrics sorted, when you consider a garages hourly rate, let alone the BMW rate.
Also there are not that many around who have the knowledge of the 8-Series , so in my case I was really lucky.

No to £14, my shoestrings are even cheaper than that! I can do electrical diagnostics myself, I just don't want to be pulling and testing the whole loom (goes round the whole car!), fuseboxes, relays and the dash etc, if I can help it.

I'm 80% confident it's a fault with the sender itself but as it's not my car, I don't want to advise the owner to buy a new one (which is a combined unit with fuel pump - £££ kerching! ) only to find it's not the solution.

They were my exact reasons too, I needed local knowledge of the 8-Series.
One day I'll be the expert :omgrofl:
