Stage 3 clutch on its way - should be good for 300bhp rather than 130bhp

Hi Dave :)

Looking good :)

I assume thats a matt black wrap ???

Did you do it yourself ??

I quite fancy a full Chrome wrap on my Porsche, but everyone i have contacted is talking a really silly amount of money....

So if you do them.....I could put some money in your pocket ?

All the best Brett :)

If you want a good chrome finish! Its got to be chrome paint :)
I saw it done once. Its an odd thing to behold as they rinse some liquid over the paint (which looks like primer) and as it runs off it leaves a chrome finish behind! Goodness knows how much it costs though??

Hi :)

There is a company in the US who does that Chrome paint but they say you also need to fly their sprayer over so an all in cost of around 20k lol...

The wrapping companies I have contacted all hear the word Porsche and start talking at 3k or 4k UPWARDS :(

I wouldnt mind paying 1k to 1.5k but no more :)

All the best Brett :)

Nearly went to the Pod today, but had a few more bits and bobs to do.

I did manage to get a quick Gtech run in with 40bhp....................

7.1 seconds to 60!!! I am pretty happy with that given the VERY lazy start I did to prevent lighting up the tyres.

Further testing had to be abandoned after I killed the sidewall of one of the rear tyres on my gatepost trying to squeeze back on the drive :( Hopefully get a new one sorted in the morning

:bounce:

hahahaha!

70bhp extra on 185 60 14s in the wet is quite amusing!

Did a 1/4 mile run with the Gtech meter and got the following

0-60 7.5 (traction was a real issue!!! This is 0.4 seconds slower than yesterday with 40bhp jets in)

1/4 mile 15.5 @ 92mph

The most interesting thing here is the terminal speed - 92mph suggests that AT LEAST a 14.5 second 1/4 mile is acheivable. That would be a 3 second drop from standard!

Cant wait for more testing!

thats one heavy aircon system, when combined with the p/s pipes and pump adds up nicely
next question is, how do you steer without the p/s pump? have you modified the rack or fitted a non p/s rack?
im hoping youve modified it :D it would be very useful to know how to "un"powersteer a rack :)
i didnt see the door windows mentioned? i thought theyd gone too?

a very impressive list, every little helps

so when are you welding the diff up?

The power steering rack has been left in place and it is a bit heavier to steer. It is probably not advised as all sorts of crap will get in and wreck the seals - but it is only a toy :)

The side windows are covered by the stripping of the doors :D

There is more to come depending on how brutal I am feeling! :beatstick:

It is still road legal as the headlights only come out at the track - in fact I drove it to work in the rain on Monday!

Power steering is not a requirement when you have arms like Popeye, a belly like Brutus, and a temprement like Olive!
