Does anyone know what the best available heads are for the Rover V8 (seem to remember someone making some super special deals for them a few years ago) and where I'd get some from and at what price???

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Real Steel are doing there own Merlin heads for the RV8. But the flow bench results on the stock Merlin heads seem to be a bit dim??

The Wildcat heads are supposed to be the mutts nuts. But I dont know how much they cost. Andy Chesman will take a pair of 4.6 heads and install the biggest valves and CNC port them for around £1500.00
which is why my MGB still runs stock 4.6 heads that I have ported at home. I've just spent 1500 notes on the roll cage, new carb, Spider plate, single plane manifold, New MT slicks, New rims etc etc for 2010.

Thanks guys.

BTW how are things going with the Fat Boys in readiness for this season???

Have you checked your fuel plunger seals? If there's any problem we should have some PTFE coated plungers available in a few weeks (just a thought, I didn't already fix you up with the prototypes of those did I and if so I'd like to hear how they coped?), that should sort the previous OB incompatibility problem and if that's not enough we're now trying to source the latest high tech fuel resistant material as used by the F1 guys as well.

The problem is that it's about £3,000 for a square foot of 2mm thick material      so unless somebodies made a cock up with the price or we can find a company that isn't charging F1 prices, we may have to forget that option.

Got the block back last week- had to have both decks skimmed (0.0025") due to the liners dropping- not an uncommon problem with a new block. Should start reassembly this week......

Haven't checked them yet- the intake is wrapped up in the garage, 'cos Fatty has been doing some fibreglass work- not related to the '34. The last plungers we had were back in 2006. I believe the seals were made of a harder material which was not affected by the additives. I will give the whole system the once-over before the season starts..........

Wildcat heads are the best flowing heads you can get,but your looking
at 3k plus the Rover mainfolds wont fit so more money there, but on a big Rover are good for another 70 horses

I run Chessman heads they cost me 1500 quid and they were allready big valve heads they are the highest flowing Rover heads you can get and must say i well happy with them.

I run them on my 5.2 TR7 she makes 315bhp na and 378 with a 50 shot
but only runs 7"1 cr built her to be charged but cant afford that bit yet LOL

Tricky
