So after being taken off the road in October with a broken push rod and a hole in the carb. The Rapid has been parked up untouched and unloved since then (apart from changing the push rod end of October).

I needed the space it is parked in so tried to start it. (to slippy to push it)

It has settled into the mud/gravel by 1/2" and everything is frozen around it.

It didnt start until 4th go but it did start without jump leads or anything! It ran (lumpily) and drove across the car park under its own power!

Now it does have a hole in the carb(throttlebody), it is LPG only and needs work on the engine. It also hasnt been looked after this year at all, just had work done when something broke and then only enough done to get it going again!

But it started and ran after three months sat in the worst weather it has ever seen.

Could it be because it wants to be out racing?

These cars apparently came from the factory with Eastern European ruggedness built in.
Simple cars just soldier on forever it seems. The lesser parts you have, the better it is.

Reminds me of me old Citroën BX, some 27 odd years ago purchased for a dime. It had 4 different size bald tyres, no ignition key, starting had to be done with a screwdriver, I never looked under the bonnet, so no idea what engine it had or what mileage it had seen as all dashboard functions had ceased, yet that thing was indestructible, it just kept on running for years untill I gave it away to someone else.
