Once my garage is done I'm going to finish building & fit a working engine in my CRX for a start

Then I'll get it back on the road so I can work out any kinks..

Then I'll add my GTI-R ITB's...

Then I'll add my twin scroll turbo....

Then If I've sold enough internal organs/spare parts I'll get a WON kit of some sort

1. Work on building a dedicated stand alone return style fuel system for the nitrous with a 1 gallon fuel cell. No more worrying about the factory fuel pumps' ability

2. Replace the stock 3.64 Rear end with a 3.91 lsd from a euro 91 bmw M5.

3. Perhaps replace the valve stem seals as preventative maintnance (complicated job on the V12)

Cheers

Good luck with that Hadi.
I just had a valve stem seal go on my V8. I used to smoke the whole street out on the morning start-up, but no longer.

I'm looking at a twin bottle set-up next.
At the mo, I have 2 x 11lbs installed, but only one is operational at any one time.
I need to talk to the guys about a balanced setup, and another bottle heater
Following that, my next aim is a 200hp gain.

I've got a separate fuel system for the gas on my MGB Hadi.
Dead easy to install.

Holley pump via a regulator to the fuel pulsoids. Just before the pulsoids I fitted a Tee piece. In the middle / return port I fitted an old carb jet with a 1mm hole. Ran the line back to the 1 gallon tank in the boot and fitted a glass inline filter so I can see the return flow. Only running 6psi so no special high pressure fittings needed. This stopped my problem with fuel pressure drop on launch as the regulator did not like running to a closed end while preparing at the start line.

Hi Perry
Thanks for the reply

My whole stand alone will be fitted under the hood including the fuel cell. The cell will be modified so I can fit an intank walbro 255 lph fuel pump. 6AN line from the pump to a T behind an adjustable aeromotive bypass FPR (high pressure 45psi like the factory fuel system), then 4AN lines from the T to the Fuel pulsoids.
The lines will be about 3 feet maximum from pump to regulator, T to pulsoids, and Regulator back to the Cell.

I am planning on activating the Fuel system with the nitrous system's arming switch before a nitrous run. Do you see any problem with this setup?

Thanks in advance
Hadi

I prefer to feed the pump from its own switch and fuse. This activates the pump. Then a fuel pressure safety switch routes a 12 volt feed to the nitrous arming switch. This nitrous switch feeds a relay that routes main power to my nitrous system via it own fuse also.
Everything on my nitrous system depends on stable fuel pressure.
Having two switches means I can check if the fuel switch has stuck shut. I arm the nitrous on its own each time I use it. If the arming lamp comes on, I know my fuel switch has stuck shut. Then activate the pump and watch all the lights come on as the controller sets itself up once fuel pressure is at normal.
My reason for being so cautious about fuel supply is that I run my engine and nitrous from a 1.5 gallon cell at the track so I dont have gallons of excess weight. I have once run out of petrol during a burnout because I got carried away and forgot I had already done 2 passes. So if it should run too low on the strip I lose all fuel with a bit hit of gas. The second my fuel starts to faulter everything shuts down. Simples :)

Hi All :)

Just got the car back from the alarm fitter....

New Clifford 650 all fitted...

I now have "Autoclose" on both windows and sunroof as well, so if I leave any windows or roof open and get out of car and alarm it, they all close automatically....

The new "Intellistart" is brilliant, just aim remote from up to 50 meters away, press remote start button, and a couple of seconds later you can hear the V8 rumble into life, and the alarm is still fully activated, and if you forget, it will cut out after 30 minutes :)

So am looking forward to a warm car to drive to work tomorrow.....

On Sunday I will test the "Blackjax" antihijacking system and let you all know.

All the best Brett :)

I love Cliffords as long as they are installed by a good tech they a so sweet.

I had a electric roller door on my old houses garage with an extra Clifford box I could open my garage door laid in bed then start my car so it was nice & warm when I got in it with the climate control 8)

The alarm kept the GF in bed which worked out pretty well if I was lucky

That MUST have been a horrible sight, I know the neighbours complain when I do much the same.
Funny enough tho, Viv doesn't get any complaints when she goes out in her pants

A proper Mod: Kick Down Over-ride

I know this is gonna sound really daft, but someone might appreciate this.

I wondered why my "Manual Shift" option appeared to make no difference.
No matter how early I manually shifted a gear, it still rev'd to the red line and then changed up.

By shere fluke, I tried this at just below WOT and it shifted immediately.
Then I realised, the kick down button (under the pedal) must have something to do with this.
Now, apart from disconnecting the wires (not that easy), what else could I do?
I tried all sort of diffent things under the pedal, to prevent kick down, as feathering the pedal on the 1/4 mile is NOT ideal.

I knew Viv was a petrol head when I met her, but she really thinks outside the box sometimes.
I explained what I'd being trying to do all weekend, in freezing conditions, then she solved it in a second.
The plastic top from a Giant Comfort bottle was perfect. It fits over the kick down button and WOT is still achieved. SIMPLES

I think after that I should let Viv take the Beamer on its first 13 sec pass

Hi :)

Its not a silly idea as I have one as well....

My autobox has the kickdown under the pedal like yours.....

It also delays the shift like yours as you have to mash the pedal down REALLY hard to activate it....

So I wired in another on my control panel....

I lift the blue safety cover then flick on the switch which brings on a red light....

Then even the very slightest pressure on the FIRST 1/4 of an ich or so of the pedal activates the kickdown INSTANTLY....

Once you are finished with kickdown you just flick the switch back up and the autobox changes back up a gear....

Its brilliant for over taking and as long as you are careful with it you can use it to activate your Nitrous system as well.....

See picture....its the blue switch bottom right.....

Image

All the best Brett :)
