I'll be doing a shed load of testing Rich. The secondaries on this big carb are the problem. And it looks like my gearbox is stuck in 1st gear?? She finds reverse, neutral, poark etc. But running up and down the pits in D she the revs just kept building and building way past the pint where she would normally have blipped into 2nd and 3rd??
I need to get her out somewhere off the road where I can let her go in D for half a mile or so to test it again.
She picks up in a millisecond when I blip the throttle to wide open on the primaries, but if I whack it wide open, as soon as the secondaries open she bogs flat. I guess I should have gone with the double pumper eh??
This is a test run from the last weekend out. The only run I did on the sunday. I dropped the gas to a 125 shot on the new spider plate to see how she would behave. She died off the line. I managed to pedal it to revive some rpm and then mashed the loud pedal in
. The guy in the Skyline must have thought he had it in the bag as I was way back in his rear view mirror within 3 seconds.
He seemed a tad surprised as I sailed past him across the line
He's a nice chap though. I had a chat with him in the fire up lane.
