I'm jealous that your rear wings are in better nick than on my MK1 MR2 Moo!!

But at least mine is White and not GAY PINK!!!

Whats the idea of hiding the CO2 bottle in the bass tube?? You may be able to hide that. But the Fosters beer tap on the dashboard will be a dead giveaway mate :D

I'm no fortune teller. But I can see a 1/4 mile face off coming on between me and you real soon eh??

Me with my stock 1600 MR2 vs your WON tweaked MR2. Now that will be a good comparison between the WON car and a stock car eh??

Dont be too surpirised if you wake up one morn to find them rear wings gone though :)

ive gotta repair the passenger side rear arch, both the quarter sections next to the rear valance and both front wings have holes near the bumper
but i have repair sections for the quarters and an arch repair panel, i reckon take off front wings and plate :)
gay pink i know is bad, but the colour is changing too, a moo blow over  :D

looks like the idleup valve is fubar tho, easy enough repair
block the fecker off so it cant let any in, mr2 only needs it for 30seconds on a cold day
im also going to bypass the water flow around the TB for cooler intake

stock na pistons only good for 160-170bhp and the rod bolts give up about the same

Image

this one however comes equiped with forged pistons, uprated rods, bore oil squirters, steel forged crank as stock
na 240bhp and 10000rpms+ or 400bhp and 7000rpms forced induction or nos 8)

maybe an 11lb bottle might be a smidge too big

Image

back to 5lb baby bottles for the hair dresser mobile :)
more 5lb bottles required
unless theres a bottle thats shorter but as wide or wider than an 11lb bottle?

did the spark gap test and was very suprised, been told the mr2 mk1 has one of the worst toyota ignition systems
dont think so! spark jumped nicely till 22mm
which is the same gap as the mallery system running on the capri
shows the benifit of a maintained ignition system and a fully charged battery ;)

Earth straps should always be cut back anyway but the strap doesn't have anything to do with heat range, heat range is how well a plug transfers heat away from itself, shown below, hopefully........

cheers loopy :) sorted, good explanation... i always look at the pictures in books 1st
so the range is down the how much of nose sticks out
was going to cut down the earth straps like i did on the capri
just seemed wierd that the plugs had enormus earth straps and yet were 2grades colder

bought a stud extactor set today, can now get the front wings off to repair them

front passenger wing and left side of valance sorted :)
only the drivers wing, passenger and drivers side rear archs, passenger and drivers side corners of rear valance, front cross member and the odd scab to go
then the pink paint goes and she turns into stealth hairdresser mobile :D

Image

Image

Image

next problem is that a 5lb nos bottle is still too long to fit into the bass tube
dont suppose theres an old wizards bottle about thats slightly wider than an 11lb bottle, and about 4" shorter than a 5lb bottle?

Image

waiting for a new panel section, this section that was cut out was squashed
i did it years ago when i spun off an island on a diesel spill

Image

did a good job, got stuck between a high curb and a plastic bollard at 90degrees, had to drive over the bollard to get out
was like austin powers doing the U turn in the tunnel 8)

had a common sense moment!!!!!
turned the 5lb bottle upside down, and ...............
Image

Image

Image

Image

bit of foam around it will hold in place, would be nicer to have a 2" wider bottle for fit and storage capacity

Image

Image

Image

hope to get all the welding finished tomorrow and have the car back in one piece

cheers rapid 8)
as the capris nos system is pretty dam impossible to hide, i thought id have a go on the mr2
i was about to chuck out that bass tube and the stealth idea came to mind 8)
bought a spare ash tray to cut up and hide the nos activating button in
im pretty sure that the whole nos system can be hidden in the boot
the way the interior trim next to the firewall sits means theres upto a 2" gap behind it
the idea is to fit the pulsoids, distribution block and moo ltd tps switch behind it
then a hole through the firewall underneath the manifold to run all the pipes

im also going to fit the crossfires underneath the manifold to keep them hidden too ;)

im 100% up for a mr2 race with pell
will make a change to kick his ass
bring it on DAVE!
