Mmmm sounds like a challenge!?!?! Sounds like there's a real need for the 'Wizards of NOSH' :)

What's track and timing stuff like? That's what also matters, if i get a reasonable time i wanna know it's real if you know what i mean!

U sorted that engine with Nitrous yet Mr. Moo....

its all tested and just needs jets for 150bhp
got a tiny prob with the ignition system triggering the maximiser, but ant and i worked that one out
been down to the engineering shop i use and have been told if i pop down saturday morning he will finishing the mods so i can fit my coilover struts 8)
no lsd yet, but will be running a 3.44cwp instead of a 3.09 so theres a bit of free acceleration :)
any det problems on the day will be technically sorted by a 1/2" socket and my hand on the dizzi
just need to find some better rated plugs and its time to blow up and engine

if i can get allowed out the house into the garage for a few days she will have an mot for the start of next month :D
if not, im fitting a tow bar to the mondeo and ringing perry to borrow his A frame ;)
that will mean that ill be testing to destruction though  :D

When racing my SD1 Rover I ran IDENTICAL times at ALL 3 UK tracks, so I'd say it's as good as the Pod in that respect.

That's good to know, i was looking on York website and couldn't see any timing gear! Was worried might be a man with a flat cap n't wippet (I'm northern 2 so i'm aloud to say things like that ;) )

150bhp jets!!! Geee your not hangin about!!!! Wish i'd gone for bigger tank now, then i'd be tempted for bigger jets. Costs me tenner in petrol every time I go for a nitrous refill !!!

2x 5lbs bottles???
one behind each seat?
then im sure you`ll have space for another 2x 5lbs in the front luggage compartment :D

what ya need scott is a company van that comes with a fuel card, 90mins trip WONHQ interupt janet and ant working for a while then a 90min trip home

to be honest the only worry ive got on the capri is the clutch, is it going to just slip all the way to the timing beam :?

york is my fave drag strip, only been to stratford and santapod though
only downer at york is when their really busy and it takes an hr to que to the signing in hut
but on the major plus, the car que to the start line is organised in a way that makes santa pod look like amatures

only 30min drive back to WONHQ from york raceway for weekend upgrades too 8)

4 bottles!!! Geee!!! Takes long enough to get one out!

Clutch is an issue on Elise too, Still not sure if mines got the uprated clutch but i know first time i took it out with streight hit of Nitrous with max building from 70% it had no chance!!! Now a more controlled 40%,60%,80%,100% over 0.5 second :D

Hooray!!
Looks like my Mickey T's will be here in time. Just ordered a pair of 215/60/R14 ET streets and the delivery has been quoted as mid May to Hauser Racing. :bounce:

But I'll need to swap my lowering blocks to the other side of the rear leaf springs to bring me up an inch or they are gonna rub badly.
But this means I cant afford to fill my 80lb bottle for a while. So I'll pull the dregs out and fill at least one bottle. Then transfer what I have in my second bottle to the third one.
So I should have at least one full and one half full. And I'll bring my 3rd empty just in case.

I've also taken my phantom grip set out so I can use it in a new axle build. So I've just welded a spare diff cage from my second spare axle to bung in as a spool for the time being.

I'll be testing the diff at the Pod RWYB on Bank Holiday Monday 5th May ready for North Weald on the Sunday 11th May. That will give me a month to fix anything I break on the 11th eh?
I'm going to try a hard launch with the start as low as poss then do a long 5 second build to lay the 150 shot on just as I go into 2nd gear.
I'm really keen to see what the old girl will do off the line with a spool diff and sticky tyres from a red hot burnout. I've only been playing with puny 5 second burnouts so far. But on the 5th May I'm going for at least 10 seconds or until I cant see for tyre smoke.
Then I'm going to get back into those 1.7 60 foots or snap some more half shafts.
Its ok though. I've got 3 spare shafts now so I can snap some more.
Always the optimist I am......

Ahhh, Now i understand your reason for breakin metal!! Spare engine to rebuild even stronger if u can break it!!!!!!

Should be a good day out, you'd better bring dustpan & shovel for scraping all bits off track! Sound like you might be busy!! Just a glutton for punishment (Used to be able to use that phrase once now that too sounds like it should be condemed to the list of words that is not used anymore?!?!?)

i think over the year ive only seriously broke 7engines and a few more that were saveable :D
normally rods sticking through blocks
ahh the sound of metal smashing against metal, and an oil slick trailing behind
sorry in advance if it happens and you get stuck with the exploding essex lane 8)
might be an idea to buy a fire extinguisher beforehand

Good and bad news for me really.
I cant fit my spool diff as I need to machine the crown wheel flange and I aint got time now.
But I did manage to get the last dregs from my 80lb bottle to give me 11 lbs in bottle 1. 10 lbs in bottle 2 and 6.5 lbs in bottle 3 for next Monday at the Pod.

So now I can order my new 80lb bottle for 2008 with 11 months rebate on the bottle rental from Simon at blended products.

I'm going to go easy on BH monday 5th May so I can run at North Weald the following Sunday. Then I dont care if I melt sommat as I have a whole month to rebuild before the WON Nitrous Nationals at York.

Forged pistons Moo!!!

Nah mate! I reckon I'll get more from the 4.6 once I pull it apart later this year and do the ring gaps like Trev says. Only when the stock engine will take no more after this will I buy forged pistons.

I'm not going to change anything on the nitrous from the WON meet at the pod. But I am going to melt the crap out of my BFG's tomorrow in the burnout puddle so I can get more traction off the line. I think I will try launching off gas, and then flick the arming switch once I'm off the line halfway through first gear.

Tomorrow at the Pod will be a banner day for me anyway. The wife is actually going to come and watch me race for the first time EVER!!. I was hoping she would get her card out to pay for lunch from the chuckwagon. But as I can see a lot of picnic stuff in the kitchen I guess we are having the usual sausage rolls, ham and tommy rolls, cheese and oinion rolls, crisps, hard boiled egg's, Chicken drumsticks, Chinky ribs, fruit, scotch egg's and fruit juice.?????

All I want at noon is a big greasy cheeseburger and chips with lots of tommy sauce and a big coffee.

Then a big milkshake at 3pm to round the day off.

"a big greasy cheeseburger and chips with lots of tommy sauce " Are you mad she say's!

That's the problem with being married to a teacher. She thinks I'm a school kid too!!!

Hopefully I'll report back tomorrow with an 11.99.....................

Most stock pistons can handle PLENTY as long as the timing is retarded by enough to avoid causing excessive peak combustion pressures, so start way too retarded and then creep up on it.

LIFE TIP,

Nothing is ever for free and some time down the road he may want you to return the favour, so you have 2 options;
1) Treat it like you're paying for it and use the reasoning that you'll sometime repay the favour
or do as I do
2) Never accept or expect something for nothing (although you should always get the best deal you can) and then you call the shots, you know where you stand and you don't owe anyone anything. ;)

Price for camping Moo!
You going a big gay on us mate??
I'm staying in 4 star B&B in Knaresborough with my sis...
All the beer I can handle and the use of the PS2 and Xbox for the night. And I get supper and brekky chucked in for free.

I bet Kim will even do me a packed lunch for the Sunday as she loves me sooooo much bless her.

I'll be happy if my MG is ready for the 15th. I should have my new pistons back in a week or so. I'm probably going to be doing only shakedowns at York at this rate. Either way, I'll give it large on the day.

Moo...A frame is ready and waiting mate...

prices are £10 per person entry onto site
£30 per person to run(unlimited runs)
not sure on camping but don't think it is much.£5-£10?
there is a bar there as well now.

hope this helps.
