Yes the return road is OK for that (although don't tell anyone I told you so) but you'd be better just stopping at the top of the track at the end of the run.

the return road at york is great, its a race track in itself :D
lots of gravel for sideways action well out the viewing eyes of the marshalls 8)
having said that the marshalls are sound, i was having a lovely conversation with the chap organising the right hand lane
so much so i missed the christmas tree lights changing

everyone got their lid ready??? hats on at york i believe

at the same time it was organised 10x better than any event ive seen at the pod

Even when York is at its busiest you still get a dozen more runs than you'd get at the Pod on a slack day and I still can't figure out why that is. :?

I went to the last May bank holiday meeting at york, i wasn't racing/'playing' myself but one of my mates turned up in the afternoon in his Renault 5 gt turbo. After a bit of persuasion, he decided to have a go at rwyb (i even had to lend him some money! ). Any way, despite the meeting having a few organised raceing classes with the rwyb run inbetween the rounds/finals and him not booking in until about 2pm, he still did 13 runs!

And that was limited by his engine useing more oil than petrol!... :? :tard:

If you want a posh place and a nice show, go to the pod, if your more interested in value for money/number of runs then go to york

Just a shame i can't make this meeting :(

Ian

I'm feeling a little more confident now.
Top back on, oil in and most of the pipes lashed back on.
If all goes well, I'll be test firing tomorrow afternoon.

Sorry guys but I will not be able to make it to York.

We are racing at Silverstone on Friday and Saturday and I had planned to come up Saturday night. However I will have been away from home from the Wednesday night/Thursday morning and with me Ma's illness having taken a turn for the worsse I can't really be away from home for any more time. :(

That's a shame Debs, was looking forward to catchin up it should be a great day.

One more question, how strict are they on tyre limits at York? My Yokohama's are just into wear bar approx 1mm left. With them being that minimalistic A048 tread pattern look pretty bald!!

Trev, if you could bring some jets that would be great! Helmet noted cheers, I was unsure!

I don't think they care about your tires but if there's a problem just burn off all signs of tread and tell them they are slicks.

Will anyone be in WON-HQ Saturday for one of those 'Ant Megga Special Nitrous Tank Refills' :D.... I could always take some stuff up in my car if your stuck for space ;-)

Yes Dave will be there but Ant wont be.

I think we can find room for the jets (the only things you'd find room for in your Elise) but thanks for the offer anyway.

Hows, that list doing? It's not long off now??? What definates have we got??? Who's working on there cars 'n' Bikes!???! Who's just going for the hell of it!!!!

Kyle you up for the Sunday??? Hows that Rover doin? K-still running sound after Trev sorted it? Trev you got those HG's ready mine may need one soon and i've practiced on Vectra now!!!

I wouldn't worry about the weather i'm sure it will be fine. These people with 2 wheels get a bit squeemish ;-) but lookin at the work you've into it (Great Picture!) will be worth it just for the day!

I've gotta sort bottom engine mount to stop engine swing on launch then cars sorted! Tis threatening to break lose at mo.. Mr Moo, You running 102 octaine, MMmmmm can i try some if you got a drum of it :drunken:

I intend to arrive with 8/9 litres of petrol to keep weight down (Even gona miss out on Mc'd's at SantaPod on route  to keep my power/weight over 350bhp per tonne!

Staying well away from any V6 Essex flying con-rods! My mate says weakest point on that engine is timing gear/pullys? Says there carbon fibre?!?! and from Perry's & Bretts cars which will be the dogs bollocs once finished!

Cheers, gotta work to fund the continued journey!

Not much of a list for this event unfortunately but we always get plenty of customers who are not on the forum turn out at most York events, so there should still be a good number there.

You're well out of date on Kyle's situation. Just to make it clear, "I" did not sort Kyle's engine, it was his lady friends engine we built for them and that's still going strong. Kyle's own engine is now dead due to piston crown failure. :(

Ouch piston crown failure! Sounds painful, sorry to hear that! Gee, another K bites the dust . Shame i know how much ur respect the accurancy and workmanship that goes into those 89kg Rover power plants ;) !!!!

He should come along anyway, see what he thinks of my K before the inevitable...
