Tezz Boy!!

I always have at least 6 gallons in the back of the truck. I use V power. Just make sure you have a fill before you get on site. I can top you up before you leave. I owe you a favour anyway re the Mayfairs at the Weald mate. I'll keep a separate gallon of V power in the 1 gallon can for you on the way out so you have enough to get to the petrol station.

I'll be leaving the strip and towing mine back to Knaresborough so I can go on the piss with my Brother in law on Sunday night. Then I'll tow her back on Monday morning after the traffic dies down.

no ticket system at york mate.
you pay a tenner each on the gate to get it. follow the track round under the pylon to the strip. you then have to scrutineer which is the first bit you come to. once scrutineered you get a card to take with you when you sign on.
drive round the side road to the pits.(all the rwyb stuff runs from the side of the strip, yanks run from the main pits)
park up somewhere and go and sign on in the porta cabin near the commentary tower,
there are a couple of forms to fill in and they will also ask you which class you are running in.

there should be a wizards of nos class on the day, but you can also sign up to run in a normal class as well.
most of you will be in class T (2 litres and over,2wd with either nitrous or turbo) the winner of this class for the last couple of meets has been an mr2 turbo running 11.2 second passes.

once signed on get in your respective que and let the fun commence!

yeah 13gallons :D
my fuel gauge doesnt work so have to fill to the brim and reset trip counter :beatstick:
well to say is doesnt work would be wrong, just what it says bears no relation to how full it really is
there was 14gallons in there but i fitted the fuel pump, and some went missing
or was spilt and took the paint off the boot, take your pick of which is most pausable but im sticking with it wasnt me ;)

im not trying for any particular time perry, just for it to go faster when the gas is turned on
the 3.44cwp set isnt going in cause im trying get a swop for a 3.75 at the moment
i ordered a set of extended wheel studs. if the tyres dont catch on the archs when tested ill bring my monster wheels 8)
dont wanna even think what they will do for acceration but they look cool

I will be now Tezz :D :D :D :D

I just got my new pistons from JED. I decided to deliver them to Lutterworth to their workshops to reduce postage delays. When he heard my sob story he raised his eyebrow's and told me to come down to the workshops. They were so helpful. He did me a great deal on a new set of stock 4.6 pistons, rings, +10 end shells, big end bolts, and he put the new pistons onto the rods with new wrist pins while I waited. £235 all in.......

And he wrote down the big end fitting procedure with the torque settings etc.

I'm going back there again.

And for the first time, someone who agree's with Trev that the Rover V8 will take a shit load of gas on stock internals if its applied properly and sensibly as long as you pay attention to ring gaps and timing. He also does his own forged V8 pistons @ £680 + vat.

I had a look at one. Solid as a rock they are. When you look up inside you can see the oil holes in the bottom land, and above that they are solid , so no thin wall behind the two top ring lands.

He doesnt sell any nitrous stuff by the way. He just builds engines to take nitrous if required.

Sorry, I've rambled havent I. Too excited thats why :D :)

Just hope I dont pull a :cherry:

wooooooooooooooooooohoooooooooooo
glad you sorted it out :D
i can pop down either tomorrow or thursday whichever is better perry
will be around 2-3pm-ish i think on either day

i know your gonna kill me dead, but i want a run against you over the weekend
think it will look great two old motors side by side 8)

last thing to decide is, do i bring the monster wheels?
they stick out the archs by 1.5inch :D, theres an inch clearance between the top of the tyre and the arch lip
it will mean my cwp ratio will be about 2.75 though :beatstick:

i will be needing bigger jets
what kind of range do you bring to the show trev?

I suppose my question would be, how many runs do you think we might get in on the day?
I'd really like to do a couple of NASP runs before I warm up the bottle.

I'll be running an engine that will only have been warmed up once from the new build due to time contraints now.
