probably one for chip here..

once the 106 is sorted, im thinking of maybe doing a standard looking corsa or nova with an LET turbo, for my everyday car so i can keep the 106 for trackdays and special occasions.

how much realistically am i looking at to do it??
will the car be reliable enough to use as an everyday car?

ive seen the cossvaux fitting kits with mounts hubs and shafts etc for just under £400, they any good?? seen 2 cossvaux nova turbos on sunday at york and they were rapido.

is it a big job fitting them in a nova/corsa??
(bearing in mind ive swapped and wired up my engine from 1.1 to 1.6 and have had just about every part of my car in pieces before so am quite mechannically minded now with cars - for an electrician anyway.. lol)

phase 2 chip with 100bhp on a maximiser

engine will be reliable and even the (std) clutch will prob hold if you are going through the gears

just need a plug change and rotor arm mod to get the ignition strength up

The conversion is easier than the one you have done from 1.1 to 1.6 in terms of the wiring mate, it really is very straightforward as the looms are so self contained.

Shafts wise you can get away with a set of nova gte shafts if you use mk2 cav inners, but to be honest your best bet is one of the group a conversions that use the astra size outer cv joints as the shafts are thicker and the joints are stronger.

Its different fitting for nova and corsa, so decide which one you are doing, then get the details off of migweb.co.uk, loads of people on there who have done both conversions, ive only ever done nova's so dont know all the details for the corsa.

why keep the peugeot for track days?
the corsa/nova will have more power than the pug even as standard and being a 2.0 litre should have shit loads more torque and be quicker.fairly easy to fit big brakes and stuff as well as most of the biggewr stuff off cavs/astras fit.
standard power is about 200bhp before you start messing.
mate had a corsa running stage 3 eds and six speed box with lsd,but looked standard.used to run 13.2 @ 110 with about 300 bhp.
the only problem we found was the oil pressure relief valve kept sticking in the oil pump.dont know if this is a common problem or not? maybe chip or brian woild know.
best bet for an engine might be a full cavalier turbo.but they do seem to be going up in price.

What pump was it?

Some of the uprated ones had a problem IIRC, there was a whole batch of them that went wrong.

Standard ones are normally pretty reliable.

i was speaking to steve at SBD the other day chip, he said there was an uprated OPC version if you can find it on EPC (worth a mention)

BTW those oil squirters will only go in the mains, cannot be fitted to the gallery due to the shape and type...TBH they may not be any good in the mains either unless there is a splined hole ready to accept them..

Yeah i know they will only fit the mains, you would want some of the "bent" type ones if it was to tap into the galleries.

We'll have to ask on mig about that uprated pump, i like the idea of an OEM uprated one just in terms of it must be reliable.

wel i cant see a corsa/nova with a 2.0 in the front handling well round a track.. :?

the peugeot will have 210ish bhp + around 40 of gas on top so will be fairly quick, and handles brilliantly.

You can get a 2.0 nova to handle pretty well, but the pug will probably still have a slight edge on it.
