Has someone done this? I can't really knock them as it's personal choice to try something I suppose.

You havn't seen the major chainsaw competitions have you ?
If you think racers are serious about racing then just imagine what chainsaw racers are like.
Ever seen a chainsaw with an expansion chamber ?
Image
The athletes use chainsaws weighing anywhere from 55 to 75 pounds to cut three times through a pine log that is 20 inches in diameter. The competition is fast and loud. The chainsaws burn on pure alcohol. And a round is typically completed in less than 10 seconds.
I havn't seen one with nitrous, but i wouldn't be supprised

Haven't seen a chainsaw competition? Please Loopy! I'm originally from Wisconsin where the capitol of lumberjack competitions take place (Hayward). LOL

As you said I have never seen nitrous though. Some nice 2 stroke motorcycle motors though.

You may jest, but I've seen a movie clip of a V8 powered chainsaw! Took two men to left it with a stretcher type cradle, but hell did it cut through that log!

AND

I had an enquiry the other day from a guy wanting to know if we could fit nitrous to his remote control racing pick-up truck!

Canada is full of them (so I'm told). LOL LOL

The smallest engine I made a kit for was a 10cc model plane that was going for the world speed record. I made a special valve that could be servo controlled and was smaller that the first digit of my thumb.

Correct we can gas anything but smaller is harder than larger which is a cocept some Americans find hard to appreciate. ;-)

By the way it was only as big as the first digit of my thumb not my whole thumb!!!!

Dear Kenny E - RIP
