No, don't laugh ;)

Just spent the afternoon at Highpower fitting a valve to the injection pump to increase fuel when using nitrous.

Omg, it's great :D Unfortunatly, it renders 1st+2nd useless, even with the minimax set to 30% + 7.5secs, but it's all good :)
I'll try + do a quick video at some point.

Its on 125bhp jets atm and theres still plenty of black smoke. Mmm, how much more can it take?

Big thanks to Ryan and his never ending enthusiasm :D and to the rest of the team! Cheers guys,

Rich

Rich,

Glad that you are happy with the end result. Personally I think that you clutch is on its way, out as you know , the power that you are running is giveng you the same amount if not more torque so really it is to be expected but we'll see. other than that the car was great and pulled really hard i was quite impressed :D not to mention the way that it sounded LOL . Just remember that ever engine has a limit and who is to say that the engine is close to that limit, so from here on we'll have to keep a close eye on everything.

Yeah, well gutted Loopy... ;)
With a bit of luck, should be getting it dyno'd in a few weeks, should be interesting :)

Ryan, yeah, possibly the clutch is on it's way, trouble is, it only had a new on 10K ago  Don't know if I'd want to fork out for a 'proper' heavy duty one, mainly due to cost (A normal one is like £40) but also I don't know how long the engine's gonna last. Knowing my luck I'd buy an all siging all dancing clutch to handle it, and i'd just get past the limit the following day ;)
Having said that, complete engines are only like £300, and it only takes a day to swap it...
Mmm, forged pistons + rods on a diesel..? Dunno, I reckon I might be better off spending the money on project audi turbo, the cav's meant to be my 'economical' daily runner ;) Or 'praps I just need a job that pays more :)

Never simple is it?

All good fun though

Rich

Rich can you tell me a bit more about the valve, hows it fitted, what type of pump do you have, mechanical? Is it operated manually?

Jimbo, It's the bosch pump. On the back of it is the fuel adjustment screw, further it goes in the more fuel the pump delivers. The valve, or 'praps more of a solenoid? Replaces this screw. But inside it is a plunger, operated by nitrous pressure. So under normal driving, the fuel stays the same. But when the nitrous is activated, the pressure after the pulsoid pushes the plunger in, which make the pump deliver max fuel. Then you can just increase jet size until you've got no smoke, though we stopped at 125hp, still plenty of smoke, but dunno how much more the engines gonna take :)
