well it didnt work out the way it should have....
150miles in and it sounded like a lifter was rattleing....200miles in it had got so loud i was too scared to start the rengine.., it turned out to be the piston rattleing in the bore
circlip decided it wasnt going to sit in the piston any more and made a dash for the sump
10 pence part that takes ten seconds to fit done all this damage!
piston is da,m near cracked in half and ill be needing a new block and maybe a new rod too (that i prob cant buy unless i buy a fecking set)
dont get it...the circlip was found in the oil pick up, it was in A1 condtion indicating a install problem...although i didnt fit them myself i was present and i heard every single one "crack" as it went into the piston
the oil looks like metallic paint
i dont get it...after the rods and puistons were fixed togeather i had them in my frontroom for about a month...i couldnt help looking at them almost every night (being steel rods and new pistons they looked so nice) but i never saw any problem with the circlips, they all looked well seated
the £600+ clutch (which is now the forth clutch that does NOT fit supplied by the superclutch guy) has smashed itself against the clutch release arm and the gearbox face...even though i took all of the measurements i was asked for and had them double and triple checked by other people and even sent the release arm and bearing to the guy at superclutch im told its "my fault"
takes the piss really!, i asked him in the first phone call if he could supply me with a clutch and he said if i took all of these measurements he could supply me with a clutch that would fit the car...i done my part!!!
as eminem says "life is a big obstacle that tries to slow you down and just when you think you have got past it, it will come back and attack you to the dam ground"
almost back to square one here....i suppose at least it gives me the chance to do the things i maybe should have done on the last block (destressing all of the cast lines and having it line bored)
