Anyone who is aware of the court action I've taken against a previous sub contract supplier and is wondering how it's been going, might be interested in an update.

For convenience I enlisted a general purpose solicitor in the home town where the court action was listed (mainly to get the case moved to a local court), thinking he'd be right there to deal with any matters quickly. I was never very confident in him, as he was never able to understand the technicalities of the case and failed to call for expert assistance. However when certain papers had to be delivered by a specific date, he just sat on them and did nothing for over a month!!!

He also failed to act at other appropriate times that may have resulted in the case to be "thrown out of court" without it even being dealt with in a court just because he failed in his duty to me. I'm currently not sure of the position as I've dispensed with his services (what a joke - service???) and have enlisted the assistance of a local specialist solicitor to retrieve the original case and to take action against the first solicitor for messing up my case.

Now it wouldn't surprise me if certain people "think" they've won the case but they'd better think again because one failed solicitor is not going to prevent me from wining this case.

Oh and by the way the new "specialist" solicitor is first rate and has done more in 2 hours than the first bloke did in 9 months!!!
So I may have lost round 1 due to a bad choice of solicitor but the fights only just started.

There's an old saying "It ain't over till the fat lady sings" and I can assure you she hasn't even come on stage yet!!! LOL

No fear of that Brian and it's not getting me down, it's fired me up because I'm pissed off that you can't rely on someone you're paying £200 / hour!!!!

I've dealt with a number of legal cases in my life (mostly bike or car related incidents) and the times I've used a solicitor I've been unhappy with the results (poor compensation etc.) but the times I've dealt with the cases myself I've won big time.
I thought this case might be to "specialist" to handle myself but after this performance (or should that be lack of performance), I'd have been better dealing with it myself!!!
This new bloke is from a "specialist" firm on intellectual property and he was on the ball straight away, so I'm a lot more confident in his services, although I may still act for myself with his tech back up, just to make sure I'm not let down again.
He's also looking at a number of matters for me like those that are using sites with my name to steal customers, etc. etc.
Thanks to his advice we've already resolved one such matter (remember my old post "from the keyboard of a fool") in my favour and I'm sure we'll do the same with all those thieves out there.

Regards

Pinklady,

I may just be having a word with you on that one. ;-)

The following is 'not' intended as an insult to you but it wouldn't be hard to be better than a bloke who after 9 months has made not a single step of progress and may have got the case thrown out of court for failure to comply with deadlines to supply a list to court, when he'd had the papers required months before hand!!!!!!l
