I am pissed......

there are some kn*bheads on our site, who's like to go against what you say and what Van Aaken says........

Not believing that Els' fezzy is 150bhp......some are contrasting to your opinions and saying adding NOS to the turbo engine will make it go BOOM......and acting the experts.....

Can someone please put them on the right track before I get really annoyed.......

Just jealousy really....

well they are welsh  :P

lol but seriously... why the hell wouldnt they believe that the fez is 150bhp? christ thats only 50bhp up on standard. With NOS, Turbo and Cams im sure thats to be expected!

I also get the whole 'If you use NOS then it will blow your engine!'. Muppets  i think they just quote that from 'The Fast and the Furious'

"Acting" is the key word. It's a difficult decision on whether to go through the headaches of educating them or knowing if they are a lost cause and not worth the trouble. I look at this way, these type of people will just fall to the wayside as the open minded people excel and move forward.

Don't anyone get to cocky or greedy with the power though as a motor can go south with to much power and then you'll be proved wrong in their eyes on the dangers of nitrous. The intelligent bunch will know that the motor just couldn't handle the power no matter how it was produced but the otrhers won't see it this way.

I ve decided that i only want a 50 bhp kit for my car, and have been told that it will be fine without troubling the engine, i"ve been told if i want more than that, mods will have to be made to the engine.

Being conservative is not a bad thing if you are more looking for fun than the ultimate in performance. Your wallet will appreciate less refills also. LOL

LOL thanks I needed that........I deleted the thread as well!!

I hate hard headed people who just wont listen to what you tell them.....even though I said you and Van Aaken said it was ok, there were 2 guys who just wouldnt listen, insistin g they were the experts cos theyd built one engine.

One guy even said, well if you claim its 150bhp then ill race ya to prove it (he has a car thats like 230bhp) whats the point?!

Jealousy eh?! Rearing its ugly head again.....

I was going to suggest the delete button option also. LOL

As soon as someone uses the "my car is faster then yours" mentality then you know you are dealing with a moron. As you say what's the point of comparing apples to oranges. Some Viper guys made fun of me because they said all I have is a slow 4x4 SUV so I must not know what I am talking about. Okay idiots go ahead and take credit for your car manufactururer building a sports car and being faster than my SUV which I drive by choice.

Sometimes big power does nt always win races, if you cant put the power down whats the point, there s a guy i know who has a loverly mk2 escort with a turbo cossie engine in it, 405 bhp and 450lb of torque, yet his best time at the pod was something like 13 secs, quick yes, but a mk1 escort with a normally aspirated pinto and half the power had run a best of 12 on the day, the said cossie escort had problems with tramping of the axle, even thou its been 5 linked.

It happens at every level.

Just wait until you get an American comparing his "shop beater" that runs 12 seconds to us and our regular cars :beatstick: It really isn't worth the fingertip wear typing a reply

A woman after my own heart, tell it like it is girl!!!!! LOL LOL

What amazes me is why these people think they are knowledgeable enough to comment on such matters. I wonder if they'd go spouting off about the internal works of an automatic box for example, as they'd know just as little about that subject. Yet for some reason everyone thinks their an expert on nitrous - what's that all about???

25 years 24/7 and I can't tell you how much extra power your car will make or how much extra it will take without some kind of failure. Every engine is different and built to different tolerances so it's impossible to say. Thanks to all that experience I can give you an idea (as I have in this case) but if I can't be more specific how the hell can anyone else be???
By taking the small steps in power we advise, we'll probably find the driver is the limit before finding any engine related limitations (which would be found in a less disasterous way anyway).

Regards

yep....grrrrrrr makes me mad.......

I'm not pretending I know all about NOS because I don't, im open to opinions of course, but JUST THAT, I dont want to know whether you think its a bad idea and the engine will blow, and arguing over a couple of BHP cos basically I dont give a damn and would rather take engine advice from a Monkey's Ass than engage in your 'expertise'.......

LOOK AT ME WITH ME GAZILLION BHP AINT MY C**K GIGANTIC!!?!?!?
I put it all together by myself....one whole engine!!! CLAP CLAP.....you've just won the Mechanic of the Year Award........here's ya Blue Peter Badge.....now go run along and play with your DIY toy, while the big boy carry on with their jobs......

There's my penny's worth........ ;)

I'm just glad you're on our side, as you even make Denny look mild in comparison, I'm sure you'll do well in the legal profession as they're all a bunch of wimps.
