Hi guys, new to the forum. I've checked, and I'm allowed to ask stupid questions in here, so here goes!

Does anybody know what the lowest-powered car as standard is to have NOS fitted to it, and what were the effects? Any opinions, etc?

My car has 75hp (I know ), but I love it apart from acceleration on the motorway. There are no chips available for this engine, and changing the exhaust etc wouldn't make much difference - so would I be able to fit NOS, and more importantly would it kill my engine; or make no difference to where I want it (mid-range acceleration)? It's a petrol 1.4l 16v VAG engine.

Thanks

Your size motor is more common that you think. The kit will supply down to 5 hp if you want but I would think you can get away with 25hp if not 50hp using a progressive controller.

Oh, that's good - I didn't know it went down to as little as 5hp. Would you say that 25hp would give me the boost in acceleration that I am looking for?

Would it, or the 50hp progressive, have any adverse effects on my clutch / other?

Sorry if this has been covered before, I couldn't find anything when I searched for it...

Highpower limits most cars to 25bhp in the UK and once the customer gets some feeedback to them they will adjust your jet ratios and power from there.

Seems like a slow day around here today. I'm sure more people that are familiar with your car will add to this thread within the next day.

i think you will be ok if your clutch etc is in good condition especially if you fit a controller, i run the kit on a 13 year old car with no problems and your car sound much newer.

Thanks for the replies... doesn't seem that slow to me!

My car is a 2001 MK4 Golf 1.4, no performance mods

Anything else I should know? Keep 'em coming... I've just started looking at this so a little confused as to what all I would need. The list seems endless!

Welcome to my forum.

There is no way that I can tell you what amount of power you will be satisfied with. However it's very unusual for anyone to be unhappy with the results our systems deliver.

We've done a number of mopeds that are less than 50cc in size, so compared to that yours is huge. On the car front we I have a Bond Bug that has a 700cc Reliant engine which makes just 26 bhp (ish) standard that we've added another 60 bhp to (progressively). The 0 - 60 fell from 46 seconds to just 10 seconds and as far as I'm aware that's the most improved car ever to run on nitrous.

So please feel free to join in the fun by buying our unique system.

Regards

Of course, you're right... I told you there would be a stupid question in there somewhere! I guess the only way to really know is try it out, but I don't know anybody running nitrous - especially not in my area or with my power.

However that is amazing, and definitely gives me an indication of what can be done. Thanks for the reply.

You'll also be able to see the Top Gear video we were involved with here;

By the way don't be tempted by the "apparant" lower price of other cheaper kits, as a low price means poor quality and poor quality is likely to cost you your engine.

Furthermore you get much more for your money with our systems than any other system - FAR too many to list in this response but just check out this section for more details.
