this has been bugging me since i did my recent install. i installed a fuel pressure and nitrous pressure gauge in the car and the bottle warmer all at same time. The next time i used nitrous i heard this sound which scared life out of me `t..t..t..t..t..t..t..t..` very fast repeating noise. sounded like the solenoids firing on the top gear and fifth gear videos but i couldnt understand why i could suddenly hear them clearly in car.

i decided it must be a pipe rattling behind dash due to the soleniods turning on and off fast and thought id better look into it quick.

turns out what it really is is my in car nitrous gauge needle going crazy when nirous is activated with the minimax. it causes the needle to fly up and down hitting both stops at each end, is this normal??? i can understand why its happening but having broke 1 gauge already i dont want to add another to the list cuz its getting expensive

any suggestions???

Your gauge should not flucuate like that. Give Highpower a call and see what's up.

i thought it was because the of the sudden pessure drop when solenoids opens followed by the sudden pressure build up as the solenoid shuts and this continues at high speed??

ill have a word with trev

Pressure will not fluctuate that much from pulsing. If you have 900 psi going in the pressure will not jump to 1500 psi as there is no boost involved from closing the solenoid.

Hi Alfaluva,
somethings wrong somewhere but your gauge can be 'damped' by using a jet in an inline jet holder. Please give us a ring so we can sort this for you.

ant the gauge came with a thing called a `special restricter fitting` which is basically a tiny hole in a fitting which goes into where i `t` off. beacause i swapped to highpower fittings it seemed unusable and unnessesary, but perhaps it is??? The hole in it is tiny almost a pin head.

i figured it could be done without as there is also a tiny hole in gauge itself so i couldnt see any differnce it might make, but it obviously does??

I think you have just solved your own problem, l have an in car gauge, from an american company which came with a restrictor you need to fit this. to stop the needle waver.

it might be easier to go with the in line jet now that im converyed to hp gear, as using it would need 1/2 dozen adaptors

typical aint it
