Hi,

Am running 50 bhp with minimax on my 2000 Saxo VTR and am in the process of buying new spark plugs. My mate thinks that splitfire tripple platinum plugs will work best with NOS. Any opinions / recommendations would be appreciatted.

Cheers

Ryan

Spitfire's would be one of your worst choices. The multiple ground straps shroud the spark.

Basic Denso's or NGK's seem to work fine for most around here.

There is a feeling around that a chemical reaction takes place with Platinum when Nitrous is burnt.

There seems to have been cases where the welds on the platinum bits on earth straps have failed and very hot platinum has dropped off on the the piston - not good.

For the price, you would do well to use an NGK Idrium tipped plug, one grade colder than normal.

Will be around £40 from www.spark-plugd.co.uk

Correct, you want to stay away from platinum as well. Basic copper plugs or iridium are the way to go.

splitfire - instant 50bhp increase in the max power world.

coupled up with a vriable resistor off ebay will give you a 10second car too..

i used normal NGK bkr7es (i think thats the code)

one grade cooler than the standards..

i bought a splitfire gauge for my sins, but hell at least i never financed that venture by buying there magic plugs, gauges are actually quite nice, well my fuel pressure one is anyway.

i remember when i was younger splitfires might have been wanted, but luckily i waste to much money to have any left for spark plugs
