Yep but due to the drivetrain of the Sierra Cossie the floorpan is effectively the same length as the Sierra and as such the Escort Cossie has longer rear wings than the standard Escort. Hence why I laugh lots when I see a "normal" Scrote made to look like an Escort Cossie.

Bah gimme a Mk1 Escy Twink using the 2litre block that's available any day ;)

The Escort Cosworth was based on the outgoing Sierra Cosworth floor pan, although this Escorts basic shape looks the same as the every day Mk5 Escort the rear 1/4's were built to be a little longer. This made the mating of the shell to the floor a little easier.

The above is from the RS Owner's Club website, so yeah in theory you could say that the Escort Cossie is a grandad's towing car in disguise

201mph Sierra Cosworth = Grandad car with mucho grande BHP

i know what your sayin simon,in my opinion sierra's whether grandad cars or drifting cossie kings are still very ugley to look at! :beatstick:

escort cossie's are much better looking and better performing, what other trackday car can give porsche and ferrari a run for there money?

sierra's are a poor mans tvr,big bhp but no handling!

guys whats your opinions on fitting nitrous? :?
my mate has told me he can fit nitrous and test it in 4 hours and i give him a drink,
but is it that easy as he makes out? :o
whats wrong with asking for professional help as the setup is very important,my friend is good with cars but has only fitted a couple of nos kits and would prefer for an expert to fit mine!

4 hours may be possible for a very basic fixed hit set-up. If you add a progressive and want a very clean and professional fit and finish then I would expect a few days as many hours are left to thinking on what would work best and look nice.

The kits are easy to install but depending on how nice you want the overall project to look it can become time consuming.

All kits do come with manuals. Highpower has the easiest one to install though if comparing fixed hit as all the other kits require a relay that complicates wiring. Plus the crossfire retaining hat is the most universal mount that I am aware of.

Also keep in mind that our standard 5mm nitrous supply line will be easier to run through a car then the 14mm ends on braided lines that come with all other kits. Plus as you already know a purge is require with other kits but not a Highpower kit for optimal performance. Again this simplifies the install and saves the cost of wasted nitrous.

Sierra Cosworth = grandad car?????? WTF are you talking about about? The Sierra in Cosworth form is an absolute classic performance car. Never been a grandads car. Just like the Saphire and the Escort. Much better than most of the modern day "performance cars".

What am I talking about??  WTF are you talking about? 'Performance Classic', its a practically stock Sierra with a damn good engine. Well its not even a damn good engine, its a Pinto with an amazing head stuck on it. The turbo was added by Ford, not Cosworth.

As for being better than modern day 'performance cars', are you serious??? Which 'performance' cars are you talking about?

l have owned a few so called performance cars over the years, 2.8 capri. 205gti, sierra cosworth on nitrous, prelude 2.2 vtec.
And yes lm a grandad, for raw power the cosworth has to be the winner shame its terifying to drive on boost in the wet, dry roads brilliant, capri, light in the back end but good fun,205gti handles great couldnt get this one to slide, prelude modern refined and totally boring, now where did l put my pipe and slippers.

PS Grandad = cheap insurance.
