Good afternoon everyone, Thanks for having me on the forum,
This weekend i am planning on getting my Nitrous kit installed but i am curious on the best mounting point for a single dry nitrous nozzle, I have heard conflicting information such as have it in the airbox or next to the throttle body and even to have it after the throttle body. My intake is a Lotus Elise s2 Sport 160 intake with 52mm throttle body and CDA filter.
Can anyone advise the best place to put the nozzle?
I have attached a similar intake to mine for reference:

I think for the single it would be after the airbox but prior to the Throttle body unless you go direct port.
Position about 3-4" prior to and inline Secondary Side of the Throttle.

Can one of the Experts say if this is correct as this is where I'm planning mine.

Yeah going single shot and will be activated with WOT as well as window switch so should go in smoothly, Only issue is there is a right angle bend right before the throttle body.

Sounds very similar to my Scirocco.

I've attached a picture of the exact same engine as mine with an arrow pointing to the Secondary side which is on the left of the air intake.

Yes, as you know WOT will be the secondary side, so bang on the center line for that

I'm a little confused what you mean by secondary side

Here we go, Throttle body very similar to mine

Primary will open first then secondary until WOT is reached.

The reasons you'll have been getting conflicting advice are;
1) Most people who 'think' they are experts on nitrous oxide, have NO idea what they are talking about, so some say one thing and others will say something totally different
2) Some people may have some good info but they fail to realise that the location can be different on different manifolds and different again when using different nozzles.

For example, it's unwise to use ANY US brand kit with a single nozzle (because they all have a very narrow plume, which means even worse distribution, the closer the nozzle is located to the cylinder head.

In contrast, if you are wise enough to be using a WON Crossfire injector (nozzle), you can locate that relatively close to the cylinder head, without any distribution problems, so as long as you are using a WON system (with Crossfire), the location BagPuss has kindly advised you on, is perfectly correct. However, if you are using a US brand nozzle, I suggest that you position it further back from the TB, to have any hope of achieving adequate mixture with the air and therefore distribution to the cylinders.

About the location indicated by Bagpuss but you could get closer if you aim the discharge to fire round and away from the runner intakes.

It certainly wasn't my intention, although at some time in the future (after getting all other aspects of my life sorted), I had hoped to come back and edit down the tech pages, to make them more readable and while I was at it, I'd have provided assistance to anyone who wanted it.

Phew, I thought for a moment it was bad advise when you were saying

My apologies if it was

You were bang on so nothing to apologise for.

The bad advice always comes from, people who ignore my products and knowledge and are only familiar with US JUNK.

35 YEARS of trying to educate people FOR THEIR OWN GOOD and still the majority prefer to buy, use and SUFFER as a consequence of US JUNK.

This forum should be the most frequented of ALL Nitrous forums (because there is VASTLY more genuine knowledge here, than all the rest put together) and yet it's the least frequented. You just can't help some people!!!!!!

What engine is it and why is it said to be weak?

Very kind of you and all you need to do, is keep doing what you've been doing, as I've only seen good posts from you.

It is a K series 1.8 vvc 160, They are known for head gasket issues and pourous blocks so erring on the side of caution, Only going to be aiming for a 25 shot to start with and then work on progressive controller up to a 40.

Yes the early ones were a pain but I believe that was fixed pretty quickly and mainly by using an improved head gasket, so if you try that for starters it may save you some time and money.
