Look carefully at the Air/Fuel gauge and tell me that the nitrous system is dispersing fuel correctly.

is it the one that said 10.0 at the flame time....

It looks that way, 10.0 is at the seriously rich end.

I was mostly referring to the instability that the run had on nitrous. The a/f was bouncing around between 11 flat and (if you spot it carefully) a 12.0, indicating that there was a lack of precision in fuel control on the nitrous' part. Another JUNK kit scoring an F :loser:

I wouldn't read too much into those AFR readings, as it will only be ONE sensor monitoring EIGHT cylinders, so it will only be an AVERAGE.
It's very unlikely that if the AFR had been in the displayed region on ALL cylinders, that it would have gone bang.

The most important aspect of the video, is that despite the 'INDICATED' AFR being 'acceptable' it STILL WENT BANG and as it was AN AVERAGE, it indicates that at least one cylinder was MASSIVELY LEAN (with at least one or more overly rich to produce that average), which is WHY IT WENT BANG.

Same end analysis but based on a different appraisal of the available information.

That was the point that I was trying to make earlier, it just didn't come out that way LOL

Exactly!

old thread revival I know..... :salute:

I'm surprised no one mentioned the 16.x that flashed up momentarily at launch -- I'm assuming that was when the nitrous was activated - with the "classic" lean hit...

Yes, that's absolutely right. We focused more on the same effect (although the gauge wasn't showing the direct lean ratio because it is an AVERAGE) before the engine grenaded. It proves that not only to generic kits hit badly, but they are CONSISTENTLY bad with sustained use.
