Hello Experts...I will be installing a WON fuel transducer with my set up. I was wondering if anyone knows if I can use that transducer with an electric Auto Meter fuel pressure gauge. The gauge comes with a sender but since the transducer already tracks fuel pressure, I was hoping I could use it instead of the sender that comes with the gauge.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum!

I can only guess that if the AutoMeter gauge interprets the 5v output of the transducer correctly, then it should work. However, that is only a guess. You should contact WON directly to get a positive answer, or if your lucky the NOS wizard will answer this post quickly.

Thanks for the reply. Trevor has actually been very helpful but didn't have a definite answer on this one. His response was similar to yours. I was hoping someone else tried doing this already.

Perhaps you could experiment by hooking up the auto meter gauge and its sensor and the Won transducer to the controller you're using, then swap the sensor wires around (auto meter to WON XXducer and WON controller to auto meter sensor) to see if they still show the same value curves. That would be good information to have on the site for anyone attempting the same setup as you since you would actually be the first to attempt it

Ok...you've inspired me. I saw the gauge I wanted on eBay for cheap because it didn't have the harness and sender. I'll give it a shot. Thanks!

I finally wired the transducer to the gauge. I bought the gauge by itself so I didn't have the autometer sensor to verify if it gives the same reading. According to the gauge, my fuel pressure is 38PSI. However, the reading I get from the nitrous controller is 148PSI. Any ideas on why they're different?

Thanks!

Which controller are you using? If it's a Max Extreme then you can calibrate the transducer to match that of the fuel pressure gauge by following the instructions in the manual.

I calibrated the controller to match the gauge. But because the numbers were so different, Trevor suggested wiring the transducer independently. These were my results:

Transducer wired independently -
Power comes from +battery
Ground comes from -battery
Signal to controller
Controller reading = 12PSI

Transducer wired to the gauge -
Power comes from gauge
Ground comes from gauge
Signal split to gauge and controller
Controller reading = 37PSI

Any ideas on why they would be different?

Thanks?

It must be a matter of circuit resistance, where the gauge has some sort of effect.
