NITROUS OXIDE ( nos / n2o ) advice forum

Hi people,
Today I went to get my bottle filled with Co2 for my purge kit ready for Modified Nationals on Sunday and I found someone who would fill it but he said just this once as its use by date is 2003. Is there a way to get is safety checked and re-stamped as I can't really afford to buy a new bottle.

Yes you can have it re-tested but it's a waste of money (apart from it enabling you to satisfy assholes who stick to such stupid rules and won't fill it for you), as I've yet to see a bottle fail in my 35 years in the business and I've seen bottles still being used that are over 20 years old.

It's like most rules/laws, they were conceived way back when knowledge was limited and by ignorant people and nothing has been done to update such stupid rules based on experience and in light of improvements in materials and technology.

I either need to get it retested or buy a new one lol because I rang everyone local that deals with Co2 as its cheaper and he was the only one willing to sell it. I could go to powerhouse for NOS but that's going to be even more expensive in the long run.

At least it's filed now anyway so ready to show off at Modified Nationals on Sunday My wheelchair will be on display on JL Audio's stand.

I think I may have found someone willing to refill it. I've been contacting companies who refill fire extinguishers and one said they may be able to help
