Hi all, hope everyone is well.

I recently bought a Lexus IS200, really like the car but its not the most nitrous friendly having a returnless fuel system, an electronic controlled throttle [on these they have a bit of a mind of their own] and not the best inlet manifold design so I think direct port is the answer.

At the moment I have a Max Extreme controller and 2 pairs of pulsoids, both fuel/nitrous pressure transducers , 4 crossfires.
I need, in theory, to get another set of pulsoids and 2 more crossfires and a few supply lines and that should be almost it, in theory.

The main issue is the fueling. I intend to start small, 25hp shot and move upwards to potentially 100shot in the long run.
Luckily the IS200 runs very rich as standard, so rich that there was an option to have a supercharger optional accessory that didnt even increase fueling [just put a cap on the map sensor reading] yet delivered , off the top of my head, 40-50hp extra.

1:Do I risk taping into the fuel rail and pray that the fpr in the fuel tank and the ecu will react in time with the pressure drop? I think its risky as there will be a small delay, or worse no reaction and will run lean.

2:Do I mess about changing the in tank fuel pump and running a return line and underbonnet fpr. Sure this would be the most sensible but I really didnt want to mess with "off bottle" running of the car. I wanted to leave as much stock as possible, not to mention the ecu will probably have a dicky fit + its non remapable too. Oh and its probably the messiest to do properly.

3:Underbonnet fuel system. I already have a small fuel tank and also a brand new low pressure facet fuel pump. The only problem here is I wanted it to look stock under the bonnet, yet alone a fuel tank somehow mounted, most likely in a way that doesnt look oem. However a big plus on this is that it will be easily transfered to another car in the future if need be.

Any ideas what might be the best way forwards on this? Any help will be really appreciated.

Regards
Mark

Cant you trick your ECU the same way they do with the charger ?

On injected engines its always the easyest and best way to go with small shots. (my opinion)
I am not into cars ,but with injected bikes we do it this way. For a small 25 to 50 shot i think you wont even have to change oem fuel pump.
Just google and check for how much HP your oem fuelsystem is save.

Isnt there a plug in your rail to check fuel pressure ?
You could fit a T with pulsoid and gauge to check if pressure drops when you open it if you go the wet way.

greets
Bernie

I would expect the fuel pump control system to react quick enough and on a car with electronic fuel pump control, I would expect it to have closed loop AFR control of the mixture, so in THEORY it should be impossible to run lean and as you already have a potential excess of fuel in the 25 to 50 region, that should continue to provide you with that safety margin.
I suggest that you fit 25 Hp jets and do a 100 year test run and the check the plugs, if they look OK I'd do a longer test run and check again and if that's OK, repeat the procedure with 50 Hp.
