Hi people !

I'm re-installing my ColdFusion wet nitrous kit on my Mazda.

There are 2 questions I have.
- What kind of fuse would I need to use for my purge ?

- How do you use a control on the steering wheel ?
The wire always get's tangled up when you are normally driving.
I've tried using old style phone cable, but it looses it's stretch very quickly.

Thanks !
Robert

Hi Robert

I'm afraid we dont really know anything about cold fusion stuff on here, which is why nobody will advise as we they dont want to give wrong advice and this forum is for folk who use Wizards stuff. What Mazda do you have?? Is this a single or multi point wet kit ?

The size of your purge fuse should be around 1.5 x the normal operating current of the solenoid as a guide ?

I use DC electronics coiled cable for the steering wheel buttons on my cars. But its multi core stuff with a a low rating of 250ma so its for switching relays that will do the power switching that you need.

Are you using this system for a fixed hit or for pulsing / progressive control?

How much nitrous are you spraying?

Is this the first time you have used nitrous ?

You say "re installing" ? Is this a re fit on the same motor / car ?

You say " How do you use a control on the steering wheel" which makes me think that you may have not used nitrous before?

For goodness sake dont GUESS at what you need to do with spraying nitrous on your car as it could end in tears ?

If you want perfect pulsed and accurate control on a small engine with small shots of gas up to 100-150hp with solenoids that will not let you down and cause damage to your engine you should look at Wizards pulsoids for your main hit even if you keep the cold fusion solenoid for your purge?

I'm not a salesman for Wizards mate. I'm just a racer who has been through the mill with nitrous systems for the last 15 years. I have found that Wizards stuff is the most reliable stuff I have used when it comes to the solenoids especially.

Give us some info on what you are intending to do with the installation before you make a big mistake.

Perry

Would you mean this kind of cable ?
Image
....+ what is the difference between a cable like this and a old fashioned phone cable

I've used this kind of cable, but the stretch is going out quickly.

The kit is a single nozzle, used on my Mx-3 2.5l v6 engine.
The hit will be a single 100hp hit.

I've used nitrous before on this car, but have been rebuilding my engine and redoing the wiring since.
Before I've experienced some trouble with the cable. 'dc coiled cable'
when removing the wiring I forgot how the purge was fused.

Thnx

That cable resists stretch better than phone cable. I use it on the MG and the Escort and the Dragster. No probs so far :)

Is that engine the same as my MX6 engine ??

Yes, it's all thesame " family" .
Orginally the mx3 has a 1.8 v6.
You can transplate the Ford Probe or Mazda Mx6 2.5l or even Mazda Millenia 2.5l All engines are thesame.
