I think I know the answer to this already but is it possible to use the valve from a 5lb bottle in a 11lb bottle?

Yes but you'd have to extend the dip tube.

Thanks Trev I was expecting the answer to be no if I'm completely honest. I can't weld anyway so I think I may still be better off getting a new valve. I'll have to empty the other bottle to see if it's a UK or US thread and get back to you and order one, would have been ideal to add it to my DP kit order but I can't wait that long for it

What would be the disadvantage to running the 11lb bottle with the 5lb valve in it for the time being?

You'd be unable to get a substantial amount of nitrous out of the bottle in LIQUID form.

Do you mean you'd have to delay the order of a DP upgrade for financial reasons if you added a valve as well?

No, I placed an order for the DP kit and 11lb bottle bracket on Saturday (100000709) and was thinking about possibly adding a valve to that order if possible? My only concern was that I wanted to use the contents of the 11lb bottle before removing the valve and checking if it is the UK or US thread, that may have taken a few days I have now seen that both bottles have M25x2 stamped on them though, so does that mean that they are the UK thread?

Yes that means they are both UK threads and if you get back to me quickly we could add the valve to your order.
