I am looking for a guide that describes some of the more common fittings that come with nitrous bottles. I just bought 2 used 10 lb bottles and don't know for sure what connectors they have, which makes it hard to order online. Ideally it would have some diagrams and measurements and tips on what to measure and how (outer diameter of threads? thread count?). Does anyone have a link to something like that? (one of the bottles has a connector that measures about 3/4 inch and I believe is fairly standard, but I would like to know what it is officially called. The other one measures just over 1 inch. I think they both have about 14 threads per inch).
Thanks,
Dan

I can't upload the photos (it says "Sorry, the board attachment quota has been reached") so I put them on flickr.

You may not be able to tell from the photos, but the chrome one is tapered on the inside and has a little hole drilled through it diagonally. The brass one is not tapered and has no hole.

Neither of those valves is best suited to AUTOMOTIVE nitrous use, especially the first one.

Neither valve is a very good quality and will seize up after little use and the hand wheels are at a high risk of being broken off.

To make the first one SEAL (due to the bleed hole), you'll either need an INDUSTRIAL connector which wouldn't lend itself to connecting to AUTOMOTIVE type hoses or we'd have to make you a special fitting.

The 2nd valve is CO2 valve which luckily doesn't have the sealing issue and I believe it's the size we can supply an adaptor for but a MUCH better arrangement would be to replace those valves with our FlowMax valves (which we designed SPECIFICLLY for AUTOMOTIVE nitrous use, for the following reasons;

1) They will never seize up
2) It's IMPOSSIBLE to break the hand wheels off
3) Instead of rupture discs, the MaxFlow has a Safe Pressure Relief Valve for maximum safety.
