Hi all,
I've been off the forum for a while now and my car has also been sitting for nigh on 3 years up in the air, patiently awaiting me getting on with compleating it...
Anyway, seeing as i've nearly finished the set-up i'd like to ask some advice.
Since buying my second hand kit a few years back i see that a new 5mm fuel pipe is available instead of the 4mm black or blue version i fitted. Do i need to fit this? will i have to uprate all the pipes? including the solonoid to spider and sprayer blocks?
I've no choice but to fit the nitrous/fuel sprayers very close to the inlet valves because of the short, narrow manifold design (Vw 9A 16v turbo with short manifold) and the fact that the sistem MUST be as hidden as possible, any problems with that? will the nitrous work all the same?
Lastly, what type of pipe is best for the fuel delivery? the old red 4mm pipe or maybe the black newer 5mm version?
Thanks.

Hi and good to have you back again.

That depends on how much extra power you want to make and what pressure your fuel delivery is?

will i have to uprate all the pipes? including the solonoid to spider and sprayer blocks?
Simialr to above but less likely to be needed.

Not unless you want to add a large power increase.

Lastly, what type of pipe is best for the fuel delivery? the old red 4mm pipe or maybe the black newer 5mm version?
The 5mm is still red but the size is based on how you respond to my first question on the matter.

Hi Trevor,
Thanks for getting back to me.
Right, basicly the engine has remained unchanged, forged pistons, headwork and ball bearing Garrett T4 turbo.
The fuel pressure is currently around 3.5/4Bar with vac. hose connected.
I bought the uprated 5mm black nitrous supply line 2 days ago along with some other stuff but i'm not sure if the 5mm red fuel line is also needed or nessesary? i plan on running a 150hp shot but even then with the .63A/R exhaust housing i'm worried that it'll choke up.
I was also wondering if i'd have to uprate also the pipes feeding the crossfire sprayers from the spider? i don't see any benifit otherwise.
Thanks!

In that case you 'MAY' be OK with 4mm but I'd still go for 5mm if it was my car, as too much fuel is much better than too little.

You won't need to upgrade those and the benefit is for the following reason;
The supply pipe causes a loss in delivery that reaches the Pulsoid, so the 4mm outlet pipe will be flowing less than the 4mm inlet pipe. By going to a 5mm inlet pipe yopu cause more fuel to reach the Pulsoid, which will allow more fuel to flow through the 4mm outlet pipe, without the need to increase the size.
