What's the best thread sealant for use on nitrous pipe threads like sealing sprv and pressure switches ect with 1/4" bsp
I have been using red hydraulic locktight liquid sealer

I have a tiny leak from a thread after redoing my pipes last weekend

I wasn't aware of the sealant Brett has used but if he says it's OK then I'd believe him.

What we actually suggest is liquid PTFE;

Just make sure you DO NOT use PTFE TAPE.

I have used Permatex = http://www.permatex.com/products/automo ... h_PTFE.htm

And currently use Earls with zero leaks = http://www.holley.com/D024ERL.asp

Just picked a bottle up from screw fix so when its empty il have a go at sealing it

I think the loctite is quite fragile as when ant filled the bottle it wasn't leaking at all got all the way home still no leaks and the next morning I can hear a feint leak so can only think I knocked it and cracked the seal slightly

Have you determined EXACTLY where the leak is from?

yeah its proper strange how it was sealed fine as i checked all the joins with washing up liquid with water in a squirty bottle and im 100 percent it was fine next day thought i could hear a noise so sprayed the soapy water again and it was blatanty obvious where it was coming from maybe someone at home knocked it

on my bottle i have got a sprv and a pressure switch both on the non isolated output from the bottle with a Y peice and it was leaking from the part the Y attaches to the bottle so have ordered a new Y peice incase there was slight thread damage and have some of that ptfe liquid

gunna bring the nitrogen bottle and regulators from work tommorow to pressure test it so i dont waste more nitrous
out of intrest what pressure do the sprv start bleeding excess pressure

Think I read somewhere that it's default setting is somewhere round 1250psi but not 100%. Also think you can adjust it - again, not 100%

Pretty useless answer I guess....lol.
