Hi Just joined up here, hoping to get some info,i own a 1997 toyota supra twin turbo VVTi, i have just had a 35-75 Kit fitted and running 35 shot at the moment, when my mechanic tested it, it seemed to go well on the gas, when i took my car to the drag strip it gave me my worst time ever, it seemed to miss all the way down the track :( ,took it back to my mechanic and had the plugs gapped down, haven't tried it on the strip yet but i read recently that NOS will not work properly with wasted spark ignition, can anyone here confirm this for me, if so is there a way round it (i haven't discussed this with my mechanic yet), thanks in advance.

Not true at all. My MGF is a wasted spark system and the nitrous works perfectly

Sorry to hear your first experience wasn't what it should have been.
Wasted spark is NOT a problem.

Potential causes are;
1) Inadequate volume of liquid nitrous in the bottle
2) Incorrectly mounted bottle leading to fluctuating levels of liquid nitrous reaching the engine
3) Assuming the bottle is mounted EXACTLY as our instructions and that it was full at the start, that only leaves inadequate spark strength.

To ensure the bottle is mounted correctly please send pics

To check spark strength you need to purchase http://www.noswizard.com/product_desc.php?id=104
For all the info you need to deal with ANY issue you encounter and to achieve optimum results in future, you need to purchase http://www.noswizard.com/product_desc.php?id=97

Re-gapping the plugs can make a hell of a difference. I couldn't rev above 4900 on my standard plugs when on NOS, which was a bit of a pain as my auto box shifted at 5500 :beatstick:
I dropped them from 0.7mm to 0.5mm and the problem was fixed

Unless they were excessively over size to start with you shouldn't need to reduce them by that much. Unfortunately I haven't had time to deterimine what too small a gap would cause but hopefully no adverse effects.

We'll be hoping for good results.

Righto update, took the car down the 1/4 mile last night, what a difference plug gaps make, ran as smooth as hell on the gas, i think with better weather (cooler) i would have had some good runs, didn't mention in the original post, i have a BPU supra TT, tiptronic auto, that has dyno'ed 350rwhp, in the past i have run a best run of 12.673 at 111.94 mph, last night after a few runs off the gas (low to mid 13's) i managed a 12.90 at 113.50mph with the NOS on, i think i could make mid 12's with a few adjustments.

TRACK CONDITIONS
Ambient temp 20.2C (68.4F)
Absolute pressure 1015 hPa
corrected pressure 1018 hPa
Relative humidity 64%
dew point 13.2C (55/7F)
Density altitude 203M (666 ft)
wind S at 3 knots
track temp 26.2 (79.2 F)

cheers again for your earlier replies. hope the above doesn't bore you :)

X2 - You now need to determine why your spark isn't good enough to run even such a small dose of nitrous at the standard gap and get that improved, then you can crank up the power and get down in to the 11s.

Hi, been a while since i came on here, well, had some good results over the last couple of years my best being a couple of weeks ago, i ran a 11.83 at 119 mph, 1.8 60ft and am now using 75hp shot, seem to have everything optimised now with a shift kitted auto, 3200 stall, 17psi boost on the stock twins and MT ET streets at 18psi, i reckon on a good day i will be able to go mid 11's, will keep you posted.
