Hi
Newbie to NOS I have only started to look in to this tonight after seeing another TVR owner with a system in his Chimaera. I am looking just to have a bit more punch for the odd ¼ day and in straight line just a basic system that will not put too much strain on my engine. How easy is it to fit these systems I am an engineer so good with most things mechanical and electronics is my background, more the setting up side of things?

I see the system on the other guys TVR goes through the air intake a bit like a LPG conversion I used to have on my old jag is it just NOS that goes in or is it neat fuel also?

It’s a rover 4.0l v8 cheers Scott

Hi Scott,
Welcome to my forum.

Fitting my nitrous systems is a breeze and you can find out more by checking out our on line fitting manual;

http://www.noswizard.com/admin1/pdf/UK_Manual.pdf

You'd also be wise to purchase a copy of my book, so you can learn anything you'd like to know at your leisure;

We've done plenty of TVRs before but to make sure yours is no different to those, can you please send me a pic of the under bonnet area to wziard@noswizard.com and I'll get back to you with which system suits it best.

Hi Scott,
looks like you will be joining in the fun soon.
You wont regret it, be sure to buy the book and give it a good read.
I made mistakes early on but nothing that couldnt be soon sorted with advice on this forum.
I see you still have the original intake pipe and elbow (from AFM to plenum).
I suggest you at least replace the elbow as this helps breathing considerably and also makes fitting of the crossfire injector much easier.
That is if thats where you decide to fit it. (Sorry just noticed you already have 1... der)
Im considering 2 injectors... 1 either side of the flared intake at rthe plenum... what do you reckon Trevor?

If you need more flow than one Crossfire can manage then yes a 2nd one would be beneficial but otherwise I doubt it would. If you did need a 2nd one for the flow, then I'm not sure that would be the best location, although I couldn't say for certain on such a layout where would be the best location for them.

The Rover plenum design has always been an 'issue' when it comes to adding nitrous most effectively and as a consequence we have to do the best we can within the confines it sets but I think I'd probably stick to having 1 or 2 injectors in the air hose.

I will be hoping to get upto 150bhp this year.
I have 2 injectors, not crossfire, but older (i think venom).
Whats the best way to position 2 injectors? 1 injector has been angled 15 deg to the flow but when using 2 is it a good idea to cross the paths (if you see what i mean).

I will be making an order to update my system soon including 2 of the latest bottle valves.
Is it just simply a case of emptying the bottles and removing the old valves or would it make more sense to let the gas supplier swap the valves at the next fill up?

That 'may' require 2 injectors along with possible hose upgrades as well.

We used to call our early combined injectors Venom2s.

Having the paths cross should result in better distribution.

Yes it's as straight forward as that.

One thing i will say is the way a WON system delivers it power is very smooth this means , no violent changes or unsettling of car and therefore from a users point of view a lot safer , and kinder to ya engin clutch and gearbox , but that dont mean it dont make the power :twisted: , i use the system on my bike have 2 less wheels than you :mrgreen: one thing you cant do on a bike is allow it to get out of shape on road or track and even with my mistakes due to way power is added and used its always controlable even sometimes on 1 wheel :shock: :shock: , add in a progressive controler as i did and ya then have the ablity to talor nitrous to ya need and usage with out ever having to change system

But i would say read Trevs book

Yeah no excuses.
Get a kit fitted, run 50 jets when all is tested and have fun.
You never use full throttle in the wet do you?
You will only use the nitrous when conditions allow.
50 bhp gives you that little extra, after all its only say a 25% increase on a 400.
Good enough to make a difference but not enough to scare you.
Like xxdrac says, invest in a progressive controller and set to your liking.
Im running 125 jets on my 450 now and its fine with a 50% initial setting to 100% in 2 seconds.
