A quick question closely related to this thread.

While my own preference for an E36 M3 would be 6 fuel Venoms into the trumpets and a single nitrous injector (Venom or Crossfire) onto a deflector plate near the throttle, what if somebody just wants the 'economical' option of using a standard SB150i kit?

What hit could we go to before uneven distribution/fuel dropout might become a problem? My thought is about 75bhp, but I would be very happy to be corrected.

(And before anybody says it, I can see that the 'economy' of a single crossfire would soon be outweighed by more efficient nitrous use with 7 injectors and a few connectors)

75 is about the limit and even at that the performance benefits are quite obvious on a DP system.

Very interesting, and nice machine work.

What's the plan for the airbox? Looks very very difficult to package....

It's not having an airbox fitted Adam.

Love the billet knuckle dusters, or you could call them Edward Scissorhands.

When they purchased the Pulsoids it was just for show and may well just stay that way but they did say they'd get back to me for a Max and further assistance when they were ready to deal with the performance side of it.

Without doubt one of Ant's neatest jobs and that's no mean feat on a straight six engine.

Was searching nitrous systems for E46 M3 and found this http://vosmotorsports.com/product_info. ... s_id=59306 and got an idea of a simple DP dry system. Connect nylon lines straight to those original vacuum spacers, at a slight angle to better spray to intake manifold. I think no special nozzle is needed when spraying nitrous only ?

Fuel would be added with stock ECU, that useless Sport-button would be used to change fuel and timing maps on the fly.

I was thinking about 200-250 hp with stock everything, that's about the same they get with superchargers.

Tried to find out more about the Sport-button programming, somewhere they said it's only 1 map that can be controlled, so it seems like it must be wet-kit. Better for progressive also I think ? Too risky trying to get nitrous controller and ECU to work same time.

So what do you think about just fitting nitrous and fuel lines straight to those vacuum adapters. I was just thinking those spider plates that have basicly just tubes spraying straight to intake ports, no fancy nozzles needed to spray them right ?

I won 150 £ from Facebook competition, just planning where to spend it.

Hi Lenny,

As is the case with all NX 'ideas' that is another BAD one.

Although our Discharge Tubes may not 'appear' to be anything 'special' they are actually VERY SPECIAL for the following reasons;
1) They are DESIGNED to enable the nitrous to be injected IN LINE with the air flow, rather than at any angle to the flow (which is detrimental to air flow).
2) They do NOT cause a flow restriction to the normal air flow as ALL other nozzles do.
3) They do NOT cause a flow restriction to to the nitrous itself by ABRUPTLY turning it through 90 degrees as most other nozzles do.
4) Not only do they NOT cause flow sapping turbulence but they actually enhance the flow due to the SPECIAL shape/angle of the exit from the tube.
5) When positioned correctly, they cause an induction system to benefit from a supercharging effect known as the Bernoulli principle, that NO other nitrous injections system can do.

Moving on to 'wet' Vs 'dry' - unless you had a fully programmable ECU and a VAST amount of knowledge to not only be able to adjust it correctly but also have a VAST amount of knowledge about how to achieve the correct mixture over the entire RPM range, it is MUCH BETTER to run a WET system, as ALL the tuning is in MY hands which is based on my 35 YEARS of experience.

Progressive is without doubt the ONLY way to add nitrous and from our experience with NO modifications carried out on the engine, it should be capable of handling an EXTRA 100 to 125 HP ON TOP of whatever you have NA.

If you'd like a quotation for the options we can offer you, please complete our contacts page and one of my team will get back to you ASAP.

Hi, haven't been on here for a while, but just to clarify what Trevor is saying, I had the opportunity to rebuild my S54 after pushing the boundaries of the stock internals, the car will be happy at 125hp if you go over it without pulling any ignition timing, here's the outcome. FACT.
Hope you can see the picture.

Cheers.
