Since my last dyno session I've found that the old Weber 800 is too small for the Rover V8.

I first fitted a Weber 500 when the engine was carb + nitrous.
Then went up to a Holley 600dp for even more nitrous fun.
Then fitted the supercharger and needed more so fitted the Weber 800 cfm carb.

Now it seems that the new engine needs more still. Its a pretty well sorted engine and I've worked on engine VE of 90% at 5800 rpm. The new lump displaces 4.8 litres now. When i add in the boost factor calculation for the 13psi i want to use I need about 950cfm from the carb. So I've just got a Holley 1050cfm Dominator.

Its fookin huge !

I've just ordered the adaptor from the states to make it fit the blower.

No prizes for guessing which is the new carb :omgrofl:

is the next size up just a bucket that pours fuel into the engine?

It seems I need 926 cfm if I'm to run 14psi at 5800 rpm on a 4.8 :)

Today I spent another £75 on gaskets and tuning parts for the big boy!

Total spend for the carb is now still under £200 so I'm very pleased :D

Now I'm playing the waiting game on the manifold adaptor from Holley ???

Their website says despatch within 2 days. I paid for this adaptor last Thursday and my purchase record still say's they havent posted it yet? But they have left positive feedback on Ebay. so thats good eh ???

Most sellers don't click the despatched box on ebay when an items been sent, so i wouldn't use that as an indicator. Depending on who they use for shipping you'll more than likely get a letter from parcel force asking for import duty, a handling fee and vat before it will be released for delivery. In my experience it will take parcel force longer to send that letter out than it does for the goods to arrive in the uk! :beatstick:
