Hey Guys, its seems Capricorn Group bought out Perfect Bore which if i am correct was a part of Peoton products...anyway can anybody tell me the quality of there coated engine liners...and instead of NiSi i want to run the new spray on as its a much better and cheaper way of having a very hard surface...i know its not knew but but Ford along with Spray Tech. as well they hierd a German block maker to fine tune this setup..Nissan bought the rights for the R series TT set ups.. and Ford has it in a new all almuminum without liners block for there 2011 GT500...There were no less then 25 paients filled when all was done....but the good thng is to repair it of course.and if said bore needs fixed it can repaierd by its self with out neededing acid dipping and replating of all the cyl....Cummings been doing this on there older wore out blocks that were deemed not repairable...

Well capricorn is scatterd all over Europe with there differant divisions, the liner and piston is there on your soil and there is one in the US now also...anyway the capricorn liners any information good or bad please would be appreciated...i am looking to use either 6061-T6 to match my engine block or MMC for the liner material....

Johnny,

We cover so many topics on the phone...and even across hours, I feel like we are only scratching the surface.

I've been on contact with Perfect Bore since last fall, they are fantastic to bounce ideas and questions off of. They are however, fairly expensive. (What do you expect from a firm that supplies F1 teams. LOL) I'll email you my contact's email addy shortly.

You are correct about the history, although I think it was around 2008 that Capricorn took over Perfect Bore. (Perfect Bore used Poeton for years, then eventually bought them) I have a number of very technical articles about Perfect Bore/Capricorn that I should be able to share with you privately. (From a high end racing technical journal)

From what I understand of their processes, they are able to re-finish blocks without acid dipping as we discussed previously. You'll be able to get more specific answers via email.

Regards,

Adam
